Put some oil in before driving her down to Key West yesterday. In the nine months I've had this car so far, approaching 130,000 miles, it's never given me a bit of trouble. Zero problems. I love this car.
And my brother's TT on the left. Equally as fun to drive.
Got a couple of options for a new car need a little help deciding, they will all be manual because fuck automatic. Its between a 2013 VW GLI, a 2011 Audi A3, or a 2013 VW 4 door golf (five door if you want to be technical) which one? cant really decide :(
Don't know about the TDI never driven a diesel before other then a truck, Ill have to test drive it to see what I think. MIght also through in the focus titanium in there the hatchback.
my friend has a 2012 Jetta TDi and it's a torquey little car, very smooth, very well put together, entertaining to drive but not lotus level or anything. If my budget would allow it and the wagon version looked better, I would have one in my consideration set for sure.
If you're considering the GLI, why not the GTI? IMO they look better, have more space in the back with the hatch, and "supposedly" are more fun to drive, though in theory they should be almost the same haha. Out of those 3 though, I'd still choose the GLI. They're pretty cool little cars. Too bad it isn't AWD.
comparing the 5door gti vs the 4 door (only option for the gli haha) gli actually has a greater volume in trunk space (413L vs 440L), as it has a larger wheelbase and overall length. that would also be why i would assume they drive differently and the gti is more fun to drive. the gti is 7kg heavier (curb weight) and a "gross vehicle weight" that is 40kg less than the gli.
the gti is about a foot and a bit (415mm) shorter, a centimeter (15mm) wider, and a centimeter (16mm) lower, with a wheelbase that is about 10cm (127mm) shorter than the gli. the difference is pretty minute, but i guess its a possible explanation as to the difference in the way the two drive?
I am actually surprised looking back that I wrote that...when I usually post about it I say reps. But, yes they are NOT real. They are REPS. But, I still love em :p
Unfortunately it had some rust developing on the CA frame mounts and the very typical rusted t-case skid bolts. Thats what im dealing with in my current TJ - so theres no way im buying another frame that will be shitting out on me in a couple years
If I were to do anything like that I would buy aluminum mirror cases from my dealer. Nothing is worse than a half-assed mod. but I don't think i'll be doing that, i like the black.
That is honestly one of the ugliest fucking cars I have ever seen. You should go kill yourself you fucking hipster. Its people like you that ruin the world.
Anyone have an 04-05 WRX Wagon? Thinking about one but I don't know much about reliability. Also open to suggestions, I'm looking for a hatchback that's semi sporty but doesn't destroy gas, and that's good in snow
I've got an 04 wagon and have had zero problems with it, and when you lay off the turbo it actually doesn't do too bad on gas. When I drove it down to Florida I got close to 30mpg.
