dynastar jibs on them (12 din binding with plastic heel piece) i got these bindings at _____ shop
worked fine until the end of the season where the heel piece was coming out of the track
so pushed it back in. no big deal. so this season same thing has been happening on both skis (coming out the tracks) so i look at the bindings and the plastic is stressed/ weakened. so okay i need new bindings, so i pick up a pair of sth 16's i wanted a beefier binding so i don't have to worry about all this bullshit about coming out of the tracks. So today i take my new bindings which were not cheap to get mounted to fresh (sick store) and steve (owner) takes off my old bindings to see where i can get them mounted so it does not interfere with the other holes in the ski. remember it has 2 mounts already. you can usually get 3 mounts out of a ski. so we get the bindings off to find that i can remount if anywhere with out mounting them back -7.5 cm or something stupid like that i would just wheelie like mad if it where mounted back that far. so that is not an option. fresh said they would not mount them anywhere where i wanted them because if i get a tear out they are liable for it. ANOTHER THING is that the shop that i bought the bindings from and got them mounted did a terrible job it is off centre and touching previous holes from the first mount! which is sketchy as fuck. so at this point i can't put on my new bindings, the bindings i have on there now are off centre and touching holes. so i just decide to to put my old bindings on and just duke it out until i can get money for new skis. so as we are putting my old bindings back on THEY STRIP okay heli coil them. oh wait i can't because they are already touching holes. by heli coiling them would just cut the hole i am currently using more into the old one. so we just put a shit load of glue in the hole so it isnt AS bad. so i have a shitty mount job with bindings i can't use. so i take it in to a shop my buddy works at and same thing they won't mount the new bindings because they do not want to be held liable for it. most of this situation could have been avoided by a simple phone call saying that the holes are too close so where would you like to get them mounted. another thing is i'm not going to take my bindings off when i get new (to me) skis so see if they did it right when i got it done. So i'm going into this shop and saying that they skrewed up mounting and they had the choice of calling me and telling me what the deal was and figuring it out from the phone call or mounting it shitty and getting a possible tear out where they would have been held "liable" if i had gotten hurt from the accident. so what should i ask this shop? what should i do? because i have skis I cannot use even if i do use the old bindings. so i have to buy new skis which is something i really do not want to do but i tihnk it's what has to happen. any tips or pointers for when i go to this shop? do i have a legit case? if i do what should they do for me etc etc...
