What to mount Elizabeths with?

Heya NS!
I have a little question about what to mount my skis with. looked at a few rly fat parkskies and got my mind on a pair of Elizabeths, or maby the Obsetheds. Anywho, i thinking of what i should mount them with? I will ride park and slay pow all winter long, so i need some quality bindings that fits good for a fat ski and that suits both park and pow skieing, so iam not looking at some dukes here. I dont know how the jesters are working in pow? or maby salomon sth 12. Tell me what u think about thoes two, and please add another binding if u feel that its a choice for me aswell. Thanks!

Bindings are bindings. They hold your feet onto your skis and release when you fall. They won't perform differently in pow than in the park.

WIth that said, it depends on how much you weigh and what you set your din at. If you set it below 11, then a px12/axial2 or a 12din solly, like the sth12 or z12 will do fine. if you set it around 11 or 12 or higher, then get a jester or sth16/s916 or higher din axial2/px

Enzo, why is there "park bindings" and "pow bindings" then?. Take the Jesters for park, and The dukes for pow for example? Oo

Thanks for the answers, i usually max my bindings out to get top performance, i dont want em to losen my boots for a little sketchy landing. I know the sth12/14s are good, but how do they fit with such a fat ski when they often are mounted on smaller skis like the thrusters etc.? Thanks ns

ok for a start let me be the first to say... maxing out your bindings doesn't maximise performance.. this is the worst type of ignorance and will end in you breaking your legs.. bindings should always be set at the correct level worked out for you on the DIN scale. If you are a more advanced skier who desires greater retention, you can move up the scale a bit at your own risk, but don't just max them out.. The DIN scale is, I believe calculated by measuring the force it takes to break your leg depending on who you are.. and so that should tell you enough..

that said 'park' vs 'pow' bindings don't really exist.. but the duke is a semi-touring binding, designed to function as well as a regular alpine binding but with a touring function... 'park' bindings generally have a low or zero ramp angle, low stand height and the sth line are reinforced compared to the salomon z-line.. that said 'park' binding is often just a marketing gimmick.. the jesters are lighter than most and that is what I have.. i went for them purely because i didn't trust the 12 DIN all plastic Griffon.. i had elizabeths last year mounted with look px12 jib ti... and they worked great... any binding with a wide break will work fine with that ski.. i prefer rossi to salomon due to the higher elastic travel, personal preference..

you max out your bindings for top preformance...... so youre saying you hate your knees? anyways, for anyone to give you any sort of answer, we're going to need to know your stats (height, weight, bsl, etc) so we can tell you the appropriate din range, as well as what kind of riding you do, and the frequency of where you ride (ie 50%bc, 25%park, 25%groomers)....

Thanks for the answers guys, enlightened me a bit. Okey, i know jesters are great, but they are the most epensive ones, which look bindings are good for me? iam about 1.8m tall, weight about 160 lbs, kinda fit trained and a experienced skier, skied since i was about 5 years old and usually just hang out by the park, but go on alot of hikes to get some pow/bc jumps aswell. Please list the 2 bindings u think i should get and i take a closer look, rly appreciate it.

180cm and 160 pounds... well you are big for Elizabeths!
Guessing your BSL/skiing level I would say you are better off in a 14-16 Din binding because they tend to be more durable.
I would check out:
Sth 14 DRIVER (much better toe piece than the regular Sth14) - Weakness is relatively low elastic travel
Jesters - Pricey but thats what I ride. Light w/ good elastic travel.
Look/Rossi - 14/15 Din binders.. Scratch 140/ Px15 Jib (these are heavier). Heavier, but great elastic travel and bombproof.
But please don't just max them out. get someone to work out your DIN for you!!

okey, yes i know i might be a little to heavy for the elizabeths, i dont know if the new scratch BC models, or maby obsethed is a better choice for me, but ive started to work more to get fit and lose some weight, not just build muscles which will make me a little thiner pherhaps. Thanks for the answers!

obsethed or sir francis bacon's would be better unless it is a pure park ski.

Yea, i will ride both park and pow, but i dont rly know how a rocker ski feels in the park, hmm. even though the obsethed's just a little. I need to think, thanks guys
