Today I worked from till 5:00 and was so fucking pumped to go skiing for the second time this season. Shit got kind of whack and we didn't get to the hill till 7ish but still I'll take two and a half hours of skiing, even if the lift ticket is $30.
So we start lapping the park, I hit some jumps and start getting confident. About the fourth or fith run in I snap my belt landing off a box, no big worry right... so I scramble into line to catch up with the 3 other guys I'm riding with, push threw the gate to get on the chair, all fidgeting with my belt trying to tie it up somehow.
As the chair comes around I look back and I realize I'm a good 4 feet in front of where the other 3 guys are loading so I make the dumb decision to make and awkward side leap onto the chair, the tip of my ski goes into the ground and I'm forced into a terribly painful iron cross that looked like pretty much like this on the ground, sans grab.
anyway I had to call it a night after an hour of skiing and my knee feels like shit. What sucks even more is I got off work and borrowed the car from my mom to go skiing all day tomorrow, which is not happening noe. If I had to guess I'd say sprained ligaments maybe some cartilage fucking, but I'm not doctor, point is now I have to see one.
I guess the whole point of this thread is to let everyone know to really be careful when you're getting back on snow, I've been skiing since I was 2 but I completely noobed the fuck out tonight and it cost me. So yeah be very fucking aware when you're on the hill and remember to stretch!
cliff notes: I failed at paying attention while getting on the lift and now my knee is poo.
