Well, I'm a kiteboarder myself and it's one of the best feelings in the world. If I were you I would buy a "bow-kite". These kites are easier to start with and cover a bigger windrange than the C-shaped kites. If I were you I would just seek a local shop, it might be more expensive but it's easier with warranty. Besides that, it's easier to find out what gear is the best for you, for example a harness. You really have to try them for buying.
