They messed up my bindings?

Ok so i asked this store to mount my bindings on the true centre but they mounted them on the core centre...is it gonna make a difference.

Don't take that shit. Freak out at them until they give you new skis. It won't really affect the ski much, but it's a matter of principle. Make them give you something as compensation.

ive never had twin tips mounted on the core centre. so idk what its like but apparently its terrible. do you think they will give me new skis? if not or if they dont will remounting them screw them up a lot (i dont wanna shell out the money even if they give me a huge discount.

aight first off u didnt make any lnies or anything and unless ur ski is symetrical and you only ski park dont mount them center its not as good

Well I had them mounted as soon as i bought them and had they not understood what centre mounted is I would have been glad to draw lines for them, but seeing as they are a reputable shop I would have figured that if they would confused they would give me a call or something, or just know the difference between core and true centre. I assume a new guy worked on em, or they rushed it because as the woman said "we have a million skis in right now"

It's not terrible. And it's not a big deal, core center is a great place to mount if you're going to be spending any time at all out of the park, but the shop shouldn't screw up like that.

i went outside and found a little snow that i had put away in the shade that i was storing for jib use but...oh well its not enoguh. since i dont weigh thaaaaat much, my butters were like next to impossible. im considering remounting like 2cm forward. do u know if thatll mess up the skis.

you have to kinda break them in first
my fujs were super stiff at first but after a week or two skiing them suddenly they got soo much flexier, like "I'm kinda scared because its so flexy" soft.

Kid you're pathetic. You heard that a core centered ski will ski worse than a true centered ski? Next time someone tells you that just punch them in the face. Unless you're skiing 100% park or your skis are symmetrical there really isn't much reason to go for the measured true center of a ski. Plus if you told the shop to simply mount them center, you have no reason to call them out on mounting core center...That is where most shops would mount. Actually most shop guys won't even bother to hear your bullshit about true center vs core center. Those are two of the most wrongly used terms in mounting today. If you know where you want your skis mounted...then straight up make it clear to the shop guys.

#1 was that really necessary? #2. i did tell them true centre. #3 this thread isnt me asking where i should mount them, its about me asking whether it would mess it up to have them remounted. i didnt need to be told the whole spiel about oh you stupid kid its only if you are in the park 100% blah blah blah because thats where i want them end of story. if you like yours at the core centre then great but thats not for me.

"core center" is a term used by k2 only. Its not a real term for a mount position. The fact that you said true center could have been interpreted as center of the recomended point, not the true center of the ski. Next time, you want something mounted at a specific place, don't tell them where. Take a big, black sharpie and draw a line on the ski where you want them mounted and point.

Words can get confusing, a line saying where isn't. I don't have much of a case if its your words against their's.

Then go back and tell them to remount, and this time, draw a line telling them where, and make sure they write it down on the slip that you want it mounted on the line you drew. Don't expect that they would drill a new pair of skis for you though, they'll just remount.

hey man i didn't want to be a dick but that's what your going to need to know to not have it happen again. It obviously wasn't clear to them where you wanted them mounted? I can't tell you how often kids come in saying true center or core center. Neither of which really means anything to the shop guy. When you write core center for a ski that doesn't have a labeled core center...most shop guys have absolutely no idea what to do.

To answer your question, it won't hurt to get your bindings remounted...you could probably get them to do it for freeee

I'm sorry to hear that. If you want just get them remounted it's really not that big of a deal.

And I wish people would stop trying to always defend the shops. It's their fault too! The shop that I've been going to for the last 5 years have never mounted my skis incorrectly and I've never drawn a line or anything. I just tell them where and they do it and that's how it SHOULD be. I've has my skis mounted + from center and they still got it exactly right, all I have to do is tell them where I want my bindings and that's where they'll put them. You shouldn't have to do so much work for the shop techs, its THEIR JOB to mount your skis where you asked them and it's really not that hard if you just take an extra moment to watch what you're doing and do it right because that's what's expected of you!!
