Ahhhh so, this is a huge milestone for me as an NSer. I first started out looking at the forums on newschoolers in about 2005 or so, when my friend Preston showed it to me. I was pretty stoked on it, but I never really got an account or anything, so I just watched as skiing developed as a sport. Last year, my dad and I were giving a kid that I play tennis with (gibvicious) a ride home from practice, and he said to me “dude peter, you gotta check out newschoolers, it’s this super chill ski website.” I hadn’t looked at it in a while, so when I got home, I made an account and made my first post. Ever since that night, I have fallen in love with newschoolers as a community and will always post and help others out.
Here are some pictures from my past seasons:
I was cruising down Seventh Heaven at Whistler on my first day of that trip, and I came up on the notorious natural windlip/quarterpipe. I noticed that it wasn’t the same as usual, being more like a wall than a quarterpipe, so my brother, friend and I built a jump over the wall of snow. Here’s my second hit 180.
So, I was at my friend’s cabin outside of Wenatchee over winter break last year, and for my last day of skiing, we wanted to hit up Stevens on the way back to Seattle, instead of going out of the way to ski at Mission Ridge. So, my brother was filming me butter my way through this snow bank on one of the best pow days I’ve ever experienced.
I was skiing at Whistler with a bunch of friends last year during spring break, and we all hiked up Spanky’s Ladder for some good intense skiing. We traversed all the way right, as high as we could go until we got to a chute called Pinball. We all looked down this thing and realized how unbelievably sketchy it was, but all of us sped down it flawlessly except for one kid who hit the outrun at with his weight super far forward and got a bloody nose. Good times.
So, you may all think that this was a super long, boring thread (and it might have been), but I just want to thank all of you for participating in this community that we have and STOP THE SCAMMING PLEASE. I know that there was a lot over the summer especially, and that’s just greezy.
Peter
