agreed, not a fan of him.
and the movie sucked this year
i felt bad for the guy who died in the filming the movie.
but otherwize it was good.
So did they at least give a decent tribute to Billy Poole?
RIP BP
I grew up in the midwest idolizing Warren Miller, S Schimdt, Plake and the other featured atheletes. The line about moving to the mountains and how if you waited you would just be another year older when you did touched my soul. It planted a seed that germinated into a skibum life. The fact that skiing lost a uber talented, humble, kick ass skier and human being for the commercialization and a shitty movie is just one more thing that is fucked about the industry. The fact that somebody would post "the guy who died" instead of taking the time to find out who he was saddens me. I didn't know BP I'd seen him skiing and had probably crossed skin/ski tracks here in Wasangles. Two of my good friends were the first responders on the scene and though the tried valiently to keep Billy from passing away it was not to be. I'm gonna stick with the he died doing what he loved mantra and the fact that it somehow got twisted into shitty ski porn to advertise chevy trucks or who ever the sponsers are is just a fuckedside of the industry like all the ads that pepper this site. So save your money don't see/buy this movie, but never forget Billy and whether you're hitting a kicker throwing funkfish 420 grabs or meadow skipping in fresh pow shit I believe even if your streching your tall t in front of the lodge Billy Poole, Doug Coombs and others that are no longer with us smile down upon you.
