im aware its in the wrong forum but nobody looks at the media and arts
i just want to get newschoolers intake on film photography
im taking a course on it, seems cool i like it and the pics are always something to ponder on
does anybody else enjoy film more then digital or am i alone?

I love film. More than digital for sure.

I shoot 35mm and 120, so much is based upon thought and manual everything. You have to THINK before you take a picture. Unlike now a-days where people buy a nice DSLR and think their a pro. But yes. I think everyone should have to buy a film camera and understand it before you can use a digital camera.

That being said, digital is a lot less expensive in the long run, plus instant play backs. That's why I shoot skiing/snowboarding digital and my art for myself in film mostly.

yea i look at it to i just think things need to be open more it gets very few hits but yea its one of my better shots im just taking a easy class ill post some more when i get them back i have one that will blow your load but feel free to post any film or digitals
what about black and white? i think the more simplistic the better

nah man im with you for surely. i love photography alot! its an awesome thing. i dont have a high deff camera so i cant take good pictures but my good friend takes some good pictures.. i will put some up.

the first one is blurry and idk why..but i will put some more up.

dont get me wrong dslr's are gods gift to the people but most people just use a standard setting and dont mess with it and even use automatic lense, its when you know how to focus and zoom and what makes a image good that you become a photographer before your just a shooter. its sad digital is killing film printing paper is hard to find and not cheap at all but its what i like more

man, i cant tell you how much i love film. i took it for 3 semesters in HS and i love it. my favorite part is how you need to use the filters and everything to make it perfect. so much fun! i should grab a camera and use my college's dark room sometime soon.

the picture looks a little underexposed, but it seems legit other than that.

digital is so much quicker though: i just bought a d40

I mean thats exactly what I was saying son. But its a lot more than aperture... people need to understand ISO, Shutter Speed, composition etc... and most of all I think what makes a lot of difference is the ability to use lighting.

Someone who knows how to use their lights....makes a huge difference for sure.

nice yea im just in photo one but my school offers great oppertunities to build up experience, and the teacher is really experienced, hopeing to get a d40 soon just cause i cant always use the dark room to do film expecially during breaks

^yea man definatly keep taking some classes. the d40 is an entry level cam, but if you know how to use it, you can do some pretty sweet things with it. photography is awesome! learn the basics and then you can just be so creative and capture moments in time and make em look sick while doing it! i gotta bring my cam to the mountain this year (i just got it a few months ago).

last year my photo teacher let me bring her SICK camera and telephoto lense to the mountain to photograph skiing (film cam, not a digital). i gotta scan some in and put them up.

yea i plan on buyn some lenses cause i just got this bomb ass canon rebal eos k2 off craigs list for 50 dollars and it works awesome probably about 2 years old used gently and i want to do some winter shots but i have to say macro is what drives most of my pics

having the eye for the compostion is huge though and i would say more important than the others. With out it your shit still sucks

film makes it so its not about your camera but more about how you shoot and how you look at the world photographers look at everything completely different
