Rossi 200 XXL World Cup

So we got a pair of them in on special order and got dicked, the guy's DIN wasn't high enough to ride them (guy was a complete fucking prick). I have a pair of 200XXL Frees, non linked heel/toe, solid heel, solid toe, all metal housing and i love them. I know the binding is the same basic premise, but with a linked heel and toe pieces.

My question is, can i cut the metal piece that links the binding without problem? the track that the worm screw dials on is riveted to this piece and feels like it wont be as secure if its not linked. I don't want to impede the flex by linking the heel and toe on a twin.

i believe this is the same as a s916 ZZ Lab, where the heel track is linked to the toepiece via a long metal plate. in the case of the zz lab, the plate allows the heel to free float back and forth about a cm to accommodate for the flex of the ski. if this plate is cut, the heel would free float without any resistance. im not sure if this is the case with the rossignals, but if you work in a shop, get together with all the binding techs and discuss what you want to achieve and if they think it will work

DO NOT CUT THAT TRACK.

IT will make the binding useless.  The maxflex is designed to keep forward pressure consistant, cutting the track out will make it so the binding will not work at all.

cool, hadnt done it yet, but thats good to know. thanks. how would that change the flex of a twin tho?

I think it would help to make LESS dead spot underfoot. I think. If this is the way it works, than it will affect the flex less than a regular binding.

its the world cup race version, designed to keep the forward pressure up and create more snap/responsiveness, which i feel like will kill the snow feel that u want from a twin

it wont effect the feel of the ski at all. the main difference is there is a little bit of added weight, so through them on the lightest pair of skis you have

Much like the 916 with similar link, it keeps the forward pressure consistent regardless of the ski flexing any which way.
