What do you say would make an apartment? Everytime you walk thru the door and you're just like 'yea, this is my place'
My roomate and I were throwing the idea of a bar, with built in keg fridge and tap.
So what would you do to your apt? (keep in mind, it has to be affordable, think college students)

Yea, we have a lave lamp already. The bulb keeps on burning out, we should defaintly make sure to get the correct bulb for it.

Lava lamps do look best in a trailer on the coffee table that was found on the side of the rode after somebody was evicted.

Hahaha, we actually had it in a corner (when it was working) and it made everything glow red. It was actually kind cool. From the balcony, you could see the blinds all lite up.
Its been replaced by a humongous plant.

Flanker, I think you got a good idea with the plant. Get a couple cool plants, not like flower arangements, but some cactus, and green plants (like non-flowering ones) and whatnot.

if your gonna go that way just cover the floor in dirt and plant some shallow rooted trees in the floor and set up a teepee. you can put a plasma screen on the wall of the teepee.

As mentioned above, always keep it clean, its the best way to make your place look nice.
Also, simplicity is key. Don't overload rooms with too much furniture/ pictures/ junk.
If you like a more modern look, you should check out some japenese paper lamps, the big globe kind. I bought mine for $4 a peice at the asian market and hung them at different lenghts from the ceiling. I bought different sizes, and put bright white lights bulbs in three, and red bulbs in two. It's quite nice.
And you can never go wrong with B&W photography in black frames. Very clean looking. Don't hang up any pictures or posters without a frame...it looks tacky.
Oh yeah, CLEAN fishtanks are always great.
Alright, enough for now. I have tons of ideas, if you need more just ask.

ok this is what you need....50inch hdtv, 1000watt stereo suround sound, xbox,ps2, black leather couches and plants lots of plants. Plants give the place a nice comfortable feeling to it. And a hot chick to come home to thats always nice. That would be a dope crib....oh wait...I just described my place hmmmm

Get a bunch of design mags/books and take a look. Find different styles/things that you like, then find a way to make it all fit together. Play with colours, room setups, etc, until you get it right. I like to keep it clean with whites, blacks, light coloured woods, and some greenery. And whatever you decide on, you NEED a pimp stereo system. That's KEY. the fishtank idea is sounding pretty cool if you can do it right and keep it clean.
