What do you say would make an apartment? Everytime you walk thru the door and you're just like 'yea, this is my place'
My roomate and I were throwing the idea of a bar, with built in keg fridge and tap.

So what would you do to your apt? (keep in mind, it has to be affordable, think college students)

tons of cool neon lights, black lights, or just any cool colored lights. u can get some for cheap almost anywhere and a ski coat rack

Where would you put the bar Pat? And you'd probablly have to talk to your landlord before installing a tap or doing any major changes. I think a pimp apartment would be one that is furnished by that store in the market next to Blue Cactus. It's probably fuckin' expensive though.

I'm all about painting a room completely black with long black lights around the outside top of the room and taking glow in the dark paint and just splotching it all over the walls. Then having bean bag chairs surrouning the outside.

Yea, my apt is pretty classy. Its in a very nice neighbourhood...ok ummmm...graffiti is over rated and I think its childish and mostly destructive of property.

set up a bar, with keg, coil and tap, it would be hella easy. just make sure its a no pump, pumping is not pimp, and personally i would hire a graf artist (a good one with a legit op) and have him paint crazy trippy art all ove rthe walls and thats pretty much it except for funiture.

look, if you want to be truly 'pimp' in the sense that girls would want to be around you and in your place, then don't take any of the suggestions above. that blacklight shit is awful, the tap isnt bad but it has to be well installed (ie not in a fridge)

if you have a coil (just a long pipe in a tight helix) then you just put the keg and coil in a cooler with ice, then screw the tap to a cut hole in a bar type thing, not that hard.

Do what we did: have your place re-done/redecorated by a professional, add a hot tub, and make sure your gas fireplace is working. Add a a touch of old school style, so cool paint colours, and a touch of ghetto(my roommate decorate with a few bongs) and it should work out just fine for you. And make sure to keep it clean.

Another thing I should mention, I have to house mates as well. Its a 3bdrm apt, so its got to be agreed by all. I've got a chick roomate and guy roomate.

kegerator built into the bar is a good idea, and get one of the cool handles, also make sure you get a drip plate for under the tap cause it will make a nasty mess. also i have in my appt several of the beer mirrors you find in bars. and i also have several large framed MC Escher portraits personally i think escher's art is awesome and i always get compliments on it. another easy cheap thing to do is a fish tank get some nice colorful fish, you could even build the fish tank into the bar. track lighting is awesome if installed properly and in the right spots behind the bar is usually good.
this is my 5th year of college so i have seen almost everything. in my opinion the worst is posters just hung up at least frame them speaking of which movie posters are also a great addition when framed like you classic scarface poster in a black frame. let me know what you end up doin cause it sounds cool

We have a bunch of prints (some framed, some with a backdecking) that look really good. Van Gogh is great, but it all depends on your personal tastes. We have a MC Escher book on the back of the can, haha.

We also have 1 of those beer mirrors in our kitchen. Try to make the living room a place to chill, it really isn't like that at all in my appartment and its too bad. We don't have a TV or stereo or anything.

one time i was sitting in jeff thomas' living room and he started trucking all these old rotten boards into the house, then took the TV off the beer fridge, pulled out his couch from the wall and proceeded to make a bar our of the fridge and this old rotten wood, after it was all done he threw a sheet over it and it was chill, poped some drink mixing books and bottles on top and it actually looks like a nice bar, he accented it with a nice lamp overtop. very pimp if you ask me

im definitely liking the big fish tank, instead of cans, put in cool bottles and drill or grind some holes in em. skyy bottles look good.
