Prohpet 100 Vs Blend Vs Kung Fujas

Here we go again. Ive read every review watched every video and talked to all my shops. Not a lot of questions answered yet. Basically 5'11", 195lbs, aggressive skier. Need to be able to take this thing through everything basically. My kids all ski, so i have to be able to chase these lil dudes down the groomers, my daughter who's 8 is my only challenge so i take her on Switch. Ive held each one, liked them all realy. The kung Fujas seemed pretty floppy though, anyone think it will actually be stable out there at speed? All these dudes tell me the Blend is like basically a park ski on roids, but none of the reviews or videos online support that, but it still scares me just a lil. The prohpets i hear charge like  beast.

Which ski is going to ride switch the best?? are they all good? Im looking to mount almost center too.

Ive also considered the Rossi S5, the ARV, and the MSP. Id like to stay around 95-105 Waist so even the VCT and Seth have been thrown in the mix. Ive pretty much narrowed to the three listed in my title, so lets here some input.

Ive used the search byt he way, and read everything out there on it, but it never hurts to get a more personalized answer. Oh yeah planning on moutning them up with some STH 14's or Jesters. The griffons seem like to much plastic and 12 din is a lil low for me, cause my din sets at 10-11 and i dont want to be maxin em out.

Well thats a well written 'help' thread so i'll do my best to answer in kind. You seem to know your stuff and have done the research so you know that Fujas are pretty soft, Blends are more mid flex (but still fairly soft) and the Prophets are decently stiff.. I would strike of the Fujas straight away.. they are more or less a fat park ski with some all mountain ability.. The Blends are similar in sidecut to the P100 but a lot softer. I haven't ridden them but like you I have flexed them etc and I would say that although they will probably hold up, the Prophet 100s will be better for charging and piste skiing without question. The reason to go with the Blend over the prophet is if you ski a lot of freestyle. The metal in Prophets will make them less than ideal for that. In your position I would go with the P100. There are a load of options in this ballpark and the S5 is the ski of the ones you mentioned that I am personally looking at. Hope that helps at least a bit.

I have yet to ride my Prophet 100s, but I some sth14s to mount on them and I am stoked.  I was looking for essentially the same ski as you and I can't wait to ride these.  I've ridden ARVs and Scratch Brigades.  The ARV is probably a little soft and not enough sidecut for you.  The Brigades are great skis and are definitely worth looking into, but everyone I talked that had skied both the Brigades and 100s said they would never go back to the Brigade.  After loving my brigades and hearing that, I am pumped to rock the 100s.  If you have the money, do the same.

I own the P100 in a 186 and can confirm that it is a brilliant ski that you couldn't possibly regret buying. it will fit your purposes perfectly- it's as good all mtn as you'd expect and it really excels on groomed far more than other skis of a similar size. What I would stress is please DO NOTmount them at centre. This is no where they are designed to be mounted and doing so would reduced their excellence considerably. Mount them on or near the line and you're set.

prophet 100's are really sick and will rip hard on anything from groomed to feet of fresh. but you said you were wanting to mount close to center. if this is the case, i would recommend you go with the blends instead. i have a pair mounted -1 inch from dead center and they absolutely shred. what you've heard about the blends being a seriously beefed up park ski is very accurate. they are pretty forgiving in the tip and tail while keeping a pretty serious flex underfoot. this flex pattern makes them fun and flexy for goofing around but they are stiff and solid at very high speeds blasting through crud when you need them to be.

the prophet is a really sick freeride ski that happens to have a twin tip. i would not mount them up too much further than the recommended mounting point. get these if you want a more dedicated directional ski with a twintip to make teaching someone easier. otherwise, you'll be really stoked on the blends.

Right on guys! thanks for some info, so far its now blends and whatever else i can think of. Making this decision easier for me. It sucks when you actually do have the money for whatever ski you want but cant make up your mind. i hate it,

Also anyone want to comment on the new salomon Lords?? I rode foils for a while and thought they were so so, little to soft for speed but an okay ski all around. Didnt ski switch as well as others but still was possible. It seems as if the lord is basically a wood core foil. anyone??

can you even mount the prophets that far up? i dunno if the metal matrix goes that far up the ski. my dad just got the 100's in the 179 and mounted them with dukes, super pumped to get out on them a lil bit.

agreed. if you want to mount near center i'd go with blends. 100 are sick but i'd never mount them center... just not made for that. been on both these skis (last year's blends/ 06' 100s) and what he said is very accurate.

they are all very good skis. the blend and kung fujas are the most freestyle oriented. neither are what i would call soft, the kung fujas is more of a medium flex, definatly not floppy, the blend is more like a medium stiff flex, and the prophet is a stiff flex.
if it were me in your situation id get the kung fujas. its not soft, so you arent gonna be chattering like crazy, but they are still soft enough to be good for butters and ollies, i think the flex is perfect for popping around in pow. and really they seem like more of a charging ski than the blend, the 179's are actually a little longer than the 182's? i think is the length? of the blend. similar weight, but they just felt like they could plow through stuff alot better.
the blend has a more snappy feel while the kung fujas seems to have a more lively controlable feel, like they do what you want when you want.

as for prophets, ive never skiied them but they seem like a great ski and they would fit you well. if it were me in your place id go 1. kung fujas. 2 prophet, 3, blend. if i had to make the decision for a ski for myself id go 1, kung fujas, 2 blend, and 3 prophet, just cause i like the more "park feel of the kung fujas and blend.

I skied the Fujas and wasn't impressed at all. Pretty average, not that lively. If you like K2 you might like it.

I only skied the Prophet 90 but from what I've read the 100 is similar but just a tad softer. The 90 was incredible all round. Carved unreal on the groomed, switch was alright (less taper than the Blend) and felt pretty light and no way as stiff as you'd think, even after hand-flexing it. Whoever said not to centre mount, I'm not sure - I'd happily ski the 90 as a park ski at centre.

Blend - not skied it but if feels soft in-hand but not as snappy as the Prophet.

if you didnt like the fujas then you probably wont like the blend, they felt pretty similar, the blend was a little quicker skiing, like carved edge to edge really well. but i couldnt get good pop out of it and i thought it was just harder to get it to do what you want. like you would try to ollie and it just wouldnt work. the kung fujas i think has alot more control, and thats why i like it better. i guess a good way to describe it is to say its a k2 ski, cause it really does ski just like you would expect a k2 to ski.

I just picked up the new Brigade, the S5 Barras, Ill let you know how it goes, I got it for Pow/Crud/Groomers and a bit of park.

ok, so here goes.

i think everyone has ruled the kung fujas out for you, and i agree. tooooo soft to really ski all mountain, and its gonna get softer as you break it in.

the prophet 100 is a super dope freeride ski, there arent too many skis out there that come close to its all mountain ability, it tackles everything, and well. it floats when need be, and plows through crust and crud like a champ. like everyone else has in some way, itll be interesting to see how far forward you can mount it, i think itll come down to a matter of how long your boot sole length is.

the blend may be ideal. i think people are underselling its stiffness here, its almost scratch bc/brigade/s5 stiff. the rossi is a bit stiffer in the tip and tail, but not as much underfoot. i own both, and love both, but the blend is my new all mountain variable condition toy. it handles crust and crud well, its very torsionally rigid (thats to the huge sidewall on it) so the edgehold on hard stuff is actally really good, i love lines g-force or p-cut geometery (they change the name every year) that has more sidecut at the tip and tail so when u lay it hard on edge it hooks up and rips. it skis switch great, i really cant say enough good things about the new blend.
