How to remove ski pole tops???

so i got some new ski poles and want to remove the tops so i can shorten them.
do i just pull till they come off or what?

theres a really good pole-cuting tutorial around here somewhere that really explains how to do it good.

but just run the grip under HOT water until it softens the glue, pop it off, cut the pole down, sand the edge, pop the grip back on

yea, just pull them off, its easiest to use a vice, but you can use a door too. if your really having trouble, run the grip under hot water first. if its a steel pole, use a pipe cutter to cut it, if its a composite pole, use a hacksaw

I have found that the easiest (and coolest way) to remove pieces from your pole is sword fights. Hitting lift towers, gapers, or other ski poles is the fastest way to get that top off. If you decide to hit a person though keep on skiing and come back the next run to get the missing piece.
