bindings not in the center of ski..widthwise

I was looking at my new tm's today that I got about a month ago with the jib bindings, didn't notice this before. I'm pretty sure the bindings are mounted about 2mm off from center causing one of the brake arms to rub on the sidewall of the ski and a lot of clearance on the other brake arm. Would there be any side effects to this? The rubbing can't be good for anything. Even if it wont affect much I'm definitely gonna have to talk to somebody because that shouldn't happen. What could cause something like this, dumb people or bad jig or something else?

Dumb people. It's pretty hard to mis-align a jig WIDTH WISE, as a jig is pretty much self-centering. That being said, it's probably just a case of mis-aligned brakes, and that can be fixed with a little careful bending. I'm almost 100% sure that's what it is. unless they happened to use some sort of paper template, which would be much easier to fuck up with.

yeah, that wouldnt be good at all if you had your bindings off center, not good at all.

I did measure from the edge of the binding to the edge of the ski, theres a four mm differnece between the sides, so 2mm off center. the other ski is slightly better but the brake still rubs.

They fucked up bad! Take them back to your shop and get them to give you NEW skis. Dont let them try to remount those ones, tell them you want new skis!

Yeah no kidding, that should never happen. Demand new skis and shoe them what they did to yours, if they say no just say you'll have your lawyer send them a letter. That should grab their attention and give you a brand new pair off the racks, have'em through other freebies in there too.
