I need to know this too, I was about to make a thread but decided to just post in here:
I'm not going to be touring or doing heli-skiing. Just some out of bounds stuff at Baker. I'm already getting a transceiver, probe, shovel, and everything else, and taking the level 1 avvy cert. class so I'm pretty serious about getting into doing more BC type skiing.
I have it narrowed down to 3 packs I think:
Ortovox Free Rider Pack:

The North Face Chute 22 Pack:

Ortovox Ski Plus Pack:

I'm not really sure what one to get. I don't think I need a bigger pack though, just something small-medium sized. I don't really want a Dakine pack though. These all look like pretty legit packs. I'm leaning towards the TNF one because it seems like a sick pack and it turns into a chair sort of. What one will protect my back the best out of these 3 packs?
