so we got these that i can think of,
head mad-trix mojo
salomon pocket rocket
rossignol scratch BC
K2 seth pistol
dynastar little big fat
armada ARV (or is it the AR5)
line mother ships
(did i miss any?)
can anyone who has ridden them tell us about the flex that these skis have. i hear that out of all of these either the armada or the heads are the stiffest, closly followed by the scratch's. i also hear that the seth pistols are really soft and that the pocket rockets are also pretty soft ( i think that is true from what i've seen in my local shop). that said, which ski is better for which terrain? i know tons of you will say 'demo them and find out for yourself' but not all of us (me) can demo the skis. any help would be great.

I think the only that matters in this case are the graphics. I mean all fat skis are basically the same and should only be used in powder. Every knows they suck in the pak, and the pollards should be considered as well, but everything I just said really is moot, so ignore it save for the pollard comment.

This is only what i have accumulated from people who have riddent them, but here goes:

head mad-trix mojo-not too fat, but a very stiff ski. will make you work, but will give you a lot in return.
salomon pocket rocket-very mixed reviews here. they're soft so they work well in pow, even though they arent really that fat, but ive seen people tear up groomers on them too.
rossignol scratch BC-stiffer than most twins, but not as stiff as the mad_trix mojos. decent in the park and alright on groomers
K2 seth pistol-tears up everything in it's path. it's seth's tool, so of course it rocks. it's kinda soft, but a strong skier shall be fine on them.
dynastar little big fat-mixed reviews. they're supposed to be a little stiff, but they dont have very much tail in the back. they arent very fat either. they're supposed to be decent skis, but not very high performance.
armada ARV-stiff. quite stiff. it will rip on the groomers along with they pow. supposed to work great in the park as well.
line mother ships-designed for fun more than high performance. supposed to be pretty soft, and actually influenced the seth pistol. seth rode them and liked them a lot. supposed to work alright on the groomers but excel in the pow

feel free to add commments. i havent ridden any of these

^ my bad , that was supposed to be sent to my friend, any way i ride nordice beast 92s and they are a little stiff and work fine in the park. the width doesnt affect you after like 2 runs, you get used to it. i have no pow in ny and they are fine for the park

what does the softness in the pistols do. does that make it better for powder or what. and if so, why would a company make a ski ment for powder less soft.

the largest ski that was ever sold to was the Atomic HeliPro at 125mm underfoot, but it was only sold in limited quantities. the largest on the market now (except for the spatulas) is the Kahuna made by K2 at 108 underfoot

I'm guessing that the Atomic Big Daddys are not twins cause someone would have mentioned them, but they're definetly the biggest skis I've ever seen, 108 in the center. Atomic should make a twin-tip version of those.
