Canandaigua, NY (November 20, 2008) – Bristol Mountain Winter Resort announced today that Friday, November 21st will be the first day of operations for the 2008-09 winter season.
The Comet Express Detachable Quad Chairlift will be operating from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. allowing advanced level skiers and snowboarders access to the Upper Rocket and Lower Rocket trails. Access to the chairlift will be restricted to advanced level skiers and riders as beginner terrain is not accessible at this time.
Bristol Mountain Marketing Director, Troy Cusson said, “We are very happy to report that the recent cold temperatures and natural snow combined with the hard work of our snowmaking crews have allowed us to open much earlier than anticipated.”
Bristol’s Mountain Manager, Ken Keenan noted, “Snowmaking operations will continue as temperatures allow with more terrain opening as soon as possible.”
Bristol Mountain will be open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as operating noon to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Night operations, with extended hours until 10 p.m., are tentatively scheduled to take place from December 5th through March 15th.
