Working/living at Panorama BC

I just got word today that I will be working at Panorama this winter. I am a highschool grad taking a gap year and looking to have fun skiing, and living in a mtn town. I was wondering if any one on here has ever worked at pano and if so if you could give me some advice. My main question is if i should stay on the mountain in res or if I should live in town in the employee lodging there? I have my own transportation, so thats not an issue. Please feel free to tell me anything else you think might be helpful.

why wud u want to work there its like 13$ a night for their staff lodging and theres no party life really, i was going to work there but then i realised id be spending all the money i made and skiing at a mediocre hill out west. if ure there tho definatly hike out past tayton bowl n rip that pitch i think its called jessies monster or soemthing its so legit, when i was there i went out ripped it and then at the bottom someone had built this huge BC jump n it was like christmas again

Living on hill is way better.  I worked up there for 3 full years, winter and summer.  Super scenic place, the drive from Invermere to Pano is about 26kms....not too bad.  I would suggest staying in the on-hill accom if you can, its kind of living in rez in university, meet lots of people in the same situation as you, party your ass off, and hook up with lots of chicks!  My vote = on hill.  Hopefully you aren't working for Can-Ski because the manager of that place, Sean Wall, is a fucking prick!

I just got conformation today. I'll be working as a snow maker, staying in the paradise lodge on hill. Cant wait! Now I need a good allround set of twins n some boots. Any one have something in or near Invermere or have suggestions where I should pick em up?

Congrats on getting that job, man. No matter how "mediocre" Panorama is for out west, It's gonna be a wet dream after skiing the Maritimes. Good luck finding some gear.

Syndicate ski & Board shop in Invermere....they are the the most 'freeski' oriented shop in those parts.
