I just picked up hellbents for like 699. They have all the new volkl stuff too, like the chopsticks and gotamas. they have the full k2 factory line too its pretty legit. It's free shipping too so that saved me hella money. BIKESALE.COM
hey i just goud a good site so i decided to throw it out there. You can keep sack riding backcountry all you want but I dont know about you guys but I would rather give my business to a small shop than keep feeding money into the corporate machine that puts honest people out of business.
i work at backcountry and have met the people who run it and they're
really not as corporate machine as you'd think. i completely agree with
the whole support locally deal but backcountry isn't as the man as
you'd think.
They have Gotamas, a little fatter but pretty much the same. Backcountry is a very large company, you cannot deny that. I know a couple guys that run a ski shop down here in utah and they're struggling right now, not only because the economy is in shambles, but because they have to compete with big online dealers. Much like backcountry. These guys have families and kids to provide for. so you hve to pay an extra 50 bucks, do the right thing support your local shop
This argument has been gone over many times. People are going to buy from the place with the best combo of price and service. For purchasing skis, local shops offer very advantages in service over online retailers, and online retailers are often much cheaper. Now, for something like bootfitting, the best combo of price and service might be a local shop, but not for most things - skis, bindings, outerwear, etc.
Not to mention lots of NS'ers work for backcountry, and backcountry gives discounts specifically to NS members...hardly a faceless corporation.
