Its the time of year where we get numerous "what skis should i get?" threads and i think this will help to solve that problem. So Post your body type, what skis you have, what length, what you like about them, and what you dislike about them. I can start to show what it should look like

Pros: sick symmetrical park ski...great pop, good for ripping too
Cons: switch landings are a little stiff, and with look px12 jib bindings its known to rip out the heel piece (hasnt happened to me yet luckily)

weak topsheet
some durability issues (i broke 2 pairs last season, warrantied both times)


09 sir francis bacons

early taper and slight rocker
pretty big sidecut to rip groomers

cons
none from my experiences (though I have only ridden them for about 5 hours this season)

expert skier

07-08 volkl walls

pros: stiff, symetrical is awesome for switch and park. really poppy, very fun ski.

cons: centered so when we occasionally get east coast pow they are awful, lots of tip dives and other shit.


i would reccomend them to someone as a park/some al mountain ski only. if you get any pow id want something as wide or wider thats more pow oriented/ not centered. they are a good eastcoast ski seeing as we get not much pow. also this years are softer so dont be as scared of all the people saying how they are like planks and hard to ski if youre not a giant.

AR5-170-  Pros -really solid ski, really tough
          Cons- a bit stiff, and edges once they start to blow out they all blow out.
Pipe Cleaner-171-Pros- plan and simle awsome ski, just great
                             Cons- You need to wax them alot
Helbents-180- Pros-they are all pros
                        Cons- Its raining right now, and there is no sign of snow for another 4 weeks

Dynastar big trouble

pro: super poppy, fun, goes anywhere on the mtn

con: a little stiff for me (im 130 lbs)

handles all conditions
carves nice and handles speed well
rides the park nice no problems rides switch good
lightweight

cons:
sidecut could be a little less but its still sick ski not complainin
not to many otheres i can think of

Since this one of the rarer skis on the site (but the dopest)

Male, 5'10, 135lbs

178 Fatypus G-butter
Dimensions: 118-86-108

Weight: super light, (but not so light that u feel like you could break them over your leg light)

Flex: they definitly have a sick flex pattern, pretty soft right above the binding for optimum butterage (as displayed by Adam Delorme in Turbo or anything else hes in) and also in the tail, but becuase of the dimensions they are still very stable and arent very chattery or unstable when your sending it into a jump.

Cons: the skis perform great so far, but the only cons i can really think of is since they are Sidewall construction they seem to chip much more than Cap construction skis (these are my first time on sidewall construction skis)

But they are a really great underrated company and make really fun park skis! So check em out!

yeah haha those looked mad soft when i saw them in turbo, but then delorme was boosting out of the quarter pipe on them so they can't be that soft

Sick ski. Does everything well. Solid flex underfoot, a bit softer tips and tails, so the ski is stable while at the same time very maneuverable.

193 4frnt ehp(this years pilsner graphic version)
Haven't skied them yet. Almost the same as last years. This year the tip is a little softer, a touch more rocker in the tip, and a little bit flatter tail. A little girthier as well.

I can post a review within 2 weeks, and might even be able to post a comparison because my bud has last years 193's as well.

Cons: ski SUPER short as they actually measure 183.

08 blends 186. Pros: solid ski for the park. perfect width/sidecut/flex for a bigger guy.
cons: tips and tails chip like a bitch

Cons: Graffics are ok, not great edge hold, not good for powder OBVIOUSLY i know, not as great switch            as i would expect from a symmetrical ski.

Cons: No snow to use them yet :(

i like everything about this ski. it takes a little while to get used to (coming off of a park-specific ski), but once you know how to ride this ski, it's a dream. decent flex and pop for the park, yet stiff and wide enough for the pow. i like the fact that i can take this ski out on any day at any hill and not have to worry about it being too wide, too thin, too soft, too stiff, etc. it does like to charge a bit though, which may not be a good thing for those of you who aren't great at turning.

Boone Magicsticks Park skis:

Pros - Snappy, Awesome pop on jumps, great going in switch, Stable at high speeds, great edge hold, edges are practically unbreakable, etc

Cons - Stiff-ish, so not the MOST buttery, but for my weight, most skis aren't..

Boone Superfreak Freerides:

Pros - Floaty, Good edge hold. Same awesome edges, softer than the park skis -  more buttery. Tough base = still no coreshots, even this early in the year.

Cons - A little bit chattery at really high speeds, as expected from bamboo...

Boone Prototype Pow skis

Pros - Look awesome in my bedroom.

Cons - No pow, or significant snowpack to take these out just yet.

i dont wanna soud like a dick, but at 6' you have tons of leverage an 140lbs is plenty of weight to butter a ski. last year i was 5'9" if that and 130lbs and could butter my 177 walls, which im gonna guesss are stiffer than youre boones. also max boone length is 175 correct? thats not very long= not a super hard to butter ski...
again im not tryin to sound like a big dick just kinda was rambling.

haha. I'm not saying I CANT butter them. I can actually butter them really well.. I'm just saying they aren't total noodles, and wont butter like something soft as some Atomic Twins, or Invaders...

I was just trying to find an actual Con about them lol.. Believe me, there's not a lot to hate.

i'm almost 5'8, 135ish lbs, 15 years old. i have them mounted dead center and ski park, but ski powder absolutely any time i have a chance too.

pros
-poppy
-not heavy for their size
-not as stiff as last years blends, there still pretty stiff but can defintely be flexed more.
-more park oriented it seems like than the previous blends
-SICK graphic, i love it

cons
-they chip alot
-they chip ALOT
-did i mention they chip alot?

overall
-great ski, perfect for hitting jumps with. i didn't find them fun on rails, and i can't wait to use them in the BC this weekend. sweaaaat ski.

6'2'', 170 , advanced skier(cant say im expert since i havnt skied 100% for a few years)

03/04 chronics

pros- love the flex, just as soft as i would want a ski(not very soft; i like stiff skis)
it WAS great on groomers and fun all around especially switch.(its dead now and has no edge after a few urbans, main park ski, etc)

cons- had no issues when the ski was in its prime but after way over 100 days on them they are dead and squirly at anything more than moderate speeds.

and i wish it was a little wider



06/07 volkl karmas

pros: nice and STIFF. pussys look away this ski can and will take ur soul.
love the width of the whole ski espicially the shovel.
awesome switch and loves to charge when given the slope (i have tried numerous times to get these fuckers to chatter and have yet to be successful)

decent in the powpow too.

cons: not exactly what i would call as 'forgiving'
if u make a mistake on this ski while skiing it hard you are going to pay. lol.
