Cheap ski towns

my family might move down to the lower 48 next winter for about three months. What are some affordable towns(not vail or aspen)? Considering rent, food, you know the whole package. Only west coast towns though.

pretty much the cheapest place to live and ski in the US is in the lake tahoe area. there are loads of houses to rent in south lake tahoe and truckee, plus there are shitloads of pretty cheap houses around the banks of the lake and theyre all pretty close to ski areas.

that or breck, but your parents probably wouldnt like breck, the scene is mostly kids.
