totally agree with you. Iv only felt them and i hate em. soooo stiff and heavy.
But iv always hated elans and always loved armadas
i didn't really like those old scratch fs's with the caution tape. kinda soft and noodly, and didn't really hold an edge too well. but i admit that that was a couple years ago when i skied them. i always thought my PEs were too heavy too. i think i had 04-05s with a carbon core or something. bombproof, and charged well, but stiff and heavy.
This thread is awesome BTW.....
Hated- well, i cant say ive ever met a ski i completly hated, but i didnt like the PE's a whole lot, they did charge hard though, i really didnt like the prophets and still dont, they felt like some balsa wood on my feet.
Loved- The original Ak Enemy from K2, the maiden AK, the pocket rocket (still think this is one of the best skis ever made, and i did like my foils, the were fun to play on, not real fast, a little soft and durability sucked, but you could get them cheap.
Isnt the Lord basically a Foil with a wood core and an extra soft tip? I thought about getting a pair, i just wished they would of added about 10mm to the waist. The tails are turned up more than enough i feel to do anything you need to. The seem like they will be some pretty BA skis. with everyone going 95+ in the waist now it makes me want to get something wide. feels like the new "midfat" skis are 95-110mm now. anyways, keep this thread going, i love it.
Aww! PE's are getting so much hate in this thread. Its true, they are stiff and heavy, but they are INDESTRUCTABLE! I've got the originals, 03-04, theyre my urban skis now, and probably will be for years to come. Skied them hard for 3 seasons, skied down piles of gravel, dirt, sand, ridden/walked them over concrete, broken glass, slid tons of rails on them, skied them over grass being pulled by an ATV, skied them into a lake in the summer, left them sit outside for about 3 weeks over the summer. all that's happened to them is one heel-piece pulled out, some discoloration on the topsheet (the sun turned them light yellow), dulled edges, a scartched base, and a few edge cracks. they don't break!
