Mini DVD Cams any good

I wanna make a movie this year r they any good? I can import the movie to my computer so thats a start

yea they are nice. They are the new standard for smaller film companies. The Cannon xL1s is an insan miniDV camera. Its about 5,000 retail, but you can find a used one for 2,000. I made our senior class video with a $600 mini DV camera and the quality was really good. It also easy to capture video if you have a firewire, or USB 2 connection on the camera.

are you talking about miniDV or one of those new sony cameras that records onto those miniature DVD's?

just make sure that the program u use to edit the stuff can do it at high resolution, i have pinnacle 8 and the shit has a max resolution of 640x480... thats bad

i dont know, but i would think if you bumped it while it was goin it would mess up, and its not really what id want cause its not as easy to put on your comp. i think its for old people who dont know how to burn it off your computer

Mini DV cams are easy to import and the video quality is good too, i personally have a digital 8mm and it works good.

i think it would be way easier to import footage off a dvd. Just put it in your computer and your done. You don't have to wait at all.

but how would you import it off a dvd? the only way i know of is ripping it and ripping it takes a lot of the quaility away somethimes. and takes a while
