Im sorry if this is a repost, Ive had a look at other knee/ACL related threads but most were to do with a torn ACL, which needs surgery. I've stretched my ACL, and I leave for a season in france in 2 weeks or so, Im a bit worried about it. It's starting to feel better ( I did it about 2 weeks ago) but I just wanted to know if anybody has advice for a stretched ACL? If anyone has had one, how did you deal with it? How long was it before you could ski, any extra treatment you needed etc. Anything would help. Thanks.
i stretched mine realy bad a couple months ago longboarding. It took a couple weeks, but DO NOT but weight on it at all. also ice every night while your sleeping, ibuprofin, and tons of 40's.
word he knows his shit. i tore a bunch of ligaments in my ankle a couple months ago, its still not 100% but i just wear a brace during anything strenuous, but i would most definitely stay off of it for at least 3 weeks to a month, and get a good brace for it so you dont twist it too far when you ski. good luck man, feel better
Well the doctor said theres nothing wrong with it, but i did see a sports injury specialist, he told me that i'd stretched it and gave me some exercises and things to do. Ive been doing a bit of cycling and swimming as well to help it along. Yeah, i was thinking of getting a brace, although i've heard that they arent so good in the long run, because they leave you a little weaker if you use them a lot...still i guess even if its just for a while it might help. Thanks for all your help!
