Super U 'Early Season Sessions' contest

Just in case y'all missed the article, Super U.ca has approached NS to do a contest for the best 'Early Season Sessions' edit, and the winner will receive $3,000!

Super U is an online venue to watch the latest Canadian short films where viewers can enjoy high quality content and filmmakers can enjoy on-site contests and exposure to broadcasters like Super U’s partner Super Channel (which the winning entry will also receive).

Details are as follows: make a short (10 minutes max) documentary-based film (not just straight ski porn!) on an early season session. Take some time to tell us the story of your day, what went into it, what you did, and how it went. Edit it all together (make sure you have the rights to any and all music you use otherwise you will be disqualified) and then upload your video to Super U.ca (not NS).

The contest is only open to Canadian citizens (as Super U is a Canadian-based website that caters to amateur film in Canada) and entries will be accepted until 5am PST on Monday, December 22nd. The earlier you upload the film the longer your film will be available for rating and anyone and everyone can view and vote on all the entires over at Super U.ca until 5am PST, Monday, January 5th, 2009. Following that, a panel of judges (Theory-3 Media's Jeff Thomas, pro skier Joe Schuster & Newschoolers.com's Jeff Schmuck) will watch the top 20% highest rated films and decide on the winner and announce it on January 19th on both Super U and right here on NS.

its put on by a Canadian company...tis not like they got together and said "DUDE< YOU KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD DO, SAY FUCK THE AMERICANS AND NOT PUT THEM IN, WOULDN'T THAT BE HILARIOUS?" its just because tis a canadian company. you gusy ahve no idea what we miss out on up here anyways. we got itunes store like a week ago, and we still cant get the same shit as the us itunes store. and if a canadian wins any money in an american contest, instantly 30% gone from taxes. how shitty is that. no matter what event thats in the states (the majority of them) a canadian champion will never make as much as an american champion.

Won't help. Even if you're a US citizen you're still a Canadian resident for tax purposes so long as you have a lot of connections here or spend more than 183 days in the country.

I ask you for a moment of your precious time. We need to RELAX. Our friends, and I put a strong emphasis on FRIENDS, to the North need this opportunity. To pissed off Americans unable to enter contest: I may not have a long spiel like Mr Rogge prepared, but I should point out that (unless I'm mistaken) the prize is for $3000 Canadian. Which comes out to something like a super sized big mac meal down there right now. So don't lose too much sleep over it.

First off I just want to say that american rant is total bullshit, to my american people??? You're addressing newschoolers... not the nation.
Where else can you fly an airplane into your own buildings, murder thousands of people and get away with it? Where else can you invade foreign countries, murder thousands of people and get away with it? And all for personal gains.
The U.S. is soooo deep in the shit right now you guys are lucky you still have houses to live in. Canada is the BOMB. Everyone who lives here knows it, people in america are blinded by propaganda and their own patriotic brainwashing. We have lotteries here and we have just as many shitty pepsi/coke under the cap/label contests that no one enters. Hell everyone in the world knows Canada is the shit.
Don't get me wrong here I love going to the states to visit, and there are a tonne of cool people living their. I'm just sick of Canada being downplayed and hearing ignorant americans talk about how great it is to live in america.

Judging by everything I've seen so far and my using my absolute bias opinion, I'm going with maxamas's entry a.k.a. Mr. Max Hill. I mean, you've got to be baller as fuck to rip your own stitches out AND make the NS front page. If the The Crook Kids Alphabet entry were a WWF title match, they'd win, then chug beer, then smash the loser over the face with fucking steel chair because, well, they're the fucking champions and they can do what they want.
