Dont you love it when you ask a question on here and like 'anyone been to Tuckermans??' and someone replies 'yeah.' Obviously the guy wants some info, not just to know if you've been there. damn.
I've been to Tucks many a times. What do you want to know??
There is some really steep shit up there. I've skied all over the headwall and Hillmans Highway. They used to have maps of the ava gullies. If there is enough snow in late winter you can ski off the top of Hillmans where there is a 10-25ft. cornice and 60-65degree slope.
To access Tucks, Drive to Pinkham notch on highway 16, pull into the pinkham notch parking lot after glen ellis falls. Begin the hike on the northwest side of the parking lot behind the visitor center. The Tuckerman Ravine trail. The hike to the base of the ravine is about 2-21/2hrs. Hiking up the gulley, especially in winter is scary. Its only about another 1/2 hr-45min, but its steep and there are lots of big holes hiding under the powder (go with a friend!) You can continue to the summit or drop in here. If there is a good snowpack, you can ski on the Sherburne ski trail to the parking lot.
i hiked up there one time in the spring after skiin wildcat looked sick
the whole mt washington are is soooo sick

uncle jemimas mash liqour it will fuck you up
thanks prick for the retort. I would have given more if he asked.
Anyways. Its hella cool. Its a nice hike, about 2-2.5 hours to the bottom of the bowl. Sick lines if youre daring. Its the closest you'll come to skiing AK lines for free in the east.
get in some good shape first because its a 4 mile hike up with all you equip;. Hit it in late april early may. nice bumps on hillmans highway....good chute in left left gully and the face always has a nice 30- 50 drop that time of year. good luck and work those quads and glutes to prepare for the hike up

The hike depends on the season. It could be a warm spring and the trail could be in good condition or if it stays cold, you might need some crampons for the last bit of the hike. It shouldnt last 4 hours...thats a snails pace. Only way it could be 4 hours is if you do the hike up and down (just go early enough to ski all the way down).
yeah i was gonna go for the past two years but shits come up and ive been unable to
