Depends on what kind of quality you want and what your price range is.

£600 so $900-1000
Want pretty good quality, more importantly I want something that records a smooth picture, has a high frame rate (can be slowed down smoothly), can be mounted with e.g. fish eye/wide angle lenses etc

Alright I no expert. But it sounds like you really aren't that much of an expert at this. Hence when you are asking about what to get. From this site there is lots to learn, especially if you read the 100 other threads on "what camera should i get". Anyway. For around 900-1000 I would suggest the HV-30. I have heard some of the best things about that camera and you cant go wrong. Its practically the high end consumer camera. I am not sure that you can use variable frame rates on it, that you would have to look up. But its "HD" and puts out some of the dopest footage ive seen. I wish it was out when i bought my gl-2. I would love to hve a camera that dope

I have an HV20 (practically the same as the HV30) and it's incredible. There are no variable framerates other than switching between regular 29.97fps and 24.0fps (film framerate). You'll have to spend some extra money to get a camera that can do say, 60fps.

Yeh, sorry I could have used the search bar but as mentioned, it's a big decision and I want to make the right one.
I don't know a lot about cameras, I just want a good one, that gets me dope footage!
