hey whats the best cad program? i have solid works 2003 right now. is that the best? or what is?

i have used AutoCad, and solidworks, i would say solidworks from my narrow experience.

AutoDesk Inventor works great for me. but i don't have much experience with other programs.

I like Cadd. but for messin around Solidworks is fun. Download rhino, its alright. i sorta found it confusing tho.

For floor plans the AutoCad is industry standard...anyone considering a career in the design/enginieering will want to know this package. For doing presentation 3D modeling and walkthroughs of buildings...ArchiCad is in my opinion the way to go. it is designed specifically for buildings and has great results once you knwo what your doing.
