I traveled to the Himalayas to ask a Tibetan monk this very question. After countless hours of climbing an Icy peak I found a temple. I walked into the temple and sat down in front of this monk. I asked him "What is the meaning of life". He responded "A tea cup". Discontent I told him I found out I had wasted my time. He then said "I guess it's not your cup of tea"

no meaning (that we know of). we're just here. skiing is just something some of us do. if there was a meaning, people wouldn't have to make up stupid stories about unseen beings in the sky that put us here and gave us rules.

the movie is called waking life. it gives some crazy, awesome and fucked up perspectives on what life is and what it is all about, this movie is crazy, watch the whole thing and really pay attention. trust me its worth it.

I've watched waking life in the neighborhood of 20 times, and I take away new meaning each time I watch it. I think this is because I'm getting older, and each successive time I watch it I have gone through new experiences and created new connections in my brain, building new bridges so to speak, and the ideas presented in waking life that I might have passed over before become relevant, or relevant in a new way.
