Centered skis

Depends what you're riding them for. You mounted at core center, so that's further back from true center, yes, but not necessarily a bad place to have them mounted at. If you're riding all park though, core center might not have been that great.

yea thats the way my friends were. when i saw them i was like wtf thats not centered. k2 should put the real center mark on the ski. in my opinion, there is only one center, which is center of the ski. this centered core bullshit is not center. pisses me off because it causes so much confusion.

center = center of the sidecut. which is where you should be unless you're not planning on being in the air and on metal more than you are on snow. It takes away from the performance of the ski and how to flex it into a turn. On one hand, center mount is extremely fun, my new park skis are center mounted (and I will be using them for natural hits too), but you have to see that a lot of people like to have a ski that turns how it's supposed to and all, as opposed to having to make it turn a different way than the sidecut.

I don't think it's worth getting re-mounted to center, because it will put another set of holes in, which weakens the ski and lowers re-sale value.also the skis will handle a little better in trees, moguls, and groomers for any time you do spend out of the park. Also i think they should handle better carving off jumps if not center mounted. The only advantages true center would give you would be the skis are a little more evenly balanced, although the tip would still be a little heavier, since it is wider than the tail. Also the heelpiece of bindings is heavier than the toepiece, so you would actually have to mount somewhere forward of center to get a perfect balance. True center would also make it so you could ski minimally better switch.

If he;s in the middle of the scale then he's about 8.5cm back of true centre. And he said he skis all park. Definitely remount.
