Well first up. The beer in Germany is about 1000000 times better than in the states so don't get your hopes up.
In terms of skiing, I did a trip similar to you (europe to summit) two years ago. My 'home' resort is Saas Fee Switzerland, just so you know.
Anyway.. I was living in Avon, Co which is i guess 2 hours up I70 from Breckenridge about 25 mins from Vail. I skied..Copper Mountain, Vail, Breck, Keystone, Araphoe, Beaver Creek and Wolf Creek.
So i guess you know Breck and Keystone have sick parks, but other than that aren't the most interesting resorts.
Vail: Didn't ski park here but rumour has it it's not bad. Its sick on a pow day, The Back bowls are basically 6? open powder bowls with a few trees in some, and Blue Sky Basin also has some sick tree skiing and Cliff drops.
BUT.. Vail gets super busy, on pow days you have to be there first thing and it's often tracked by lunchtime. Don't even bother on weekends.
Beaver Creek: Sick. In my opinion it kills Vail. Less busy. Pow lasts longer. More challenging lines inbounds. Good park too, very undertated. Definitely worth a few trips.
I have some sick spots here hidden away in the glades or just out of bounds. Will PM if you want em.
Wolf Creek: Only went one day. A long drive! But empty as fuck, great snow, sick terrain.
Copper: As said, go cat skiing ^^.
I can give you directions few sick spots in Vail and a load in Beaver Creek. If you want.
Bottom line is: If you want pow, go to the less popular resorts, or get up very early. Wolf creek was my best pow day but its a long way..
