what DIN do you usually ride at, i just discovered that the shop really fucked mine up, and me being an idiot for not checking was riding at 6 the entire season.
it all really depends on weight/skill level. I way like 170 and im on 9 or 10. But when i was a racer, i only weighed like 140ish and i was on 11 and 12, so it all depends on how much you weigh and what you will be doing with it. I know in a race you really never want you ski just falling off, or in anything for that matter.
Anyone know how to really adjust DIN on here? I'm worried about my shop setting mine to low, and i don't have a clue about how it works... pm me please!
last year was 11 on my park skis and 12 on my pow skis. however, i couldn't stomp anything over 20 or so feet w/o my skis popping off on impact. this year i hope to have solved that problem by buying bigger skis and putting px18s on them. i will ride them at 15.
I think it needs to be said that if you have your bindings at a certain level for a season and you find that you start prereleasing the solution generally doesn't lie with turning up the DIN..More often than not, forward pressure is the issue.
oh and I weighed 130 last season, Now I weigh 140 so they all probably will be going a turn up exept for those damn no release when you want them too Axail 2's
the ski tech has a chart from the binding manufactur that takes into account height, weight, skill level, age and boot sole length. if your worried about the shop setting just ask them what it will be when you fill out the paperwork. the settings tend to be for casual skiers so they are generally too low for aggressive skiers. check 3+ for your skill level. if thats still too low ask the tech how to change the din yourself (generally, the tech has to follow the chart for insurance reasons). then when you get the skis back you can just crank'em up.
i got my skis back today from mounting new bindings and i had the DIN set at 10 and i told them not to change it and what do you know they put it all the way down to 3. but i suppose they have to change it for liabillity issues. but 3 is a little low...
wow some of you kids are gonna break your legs. i'm 6'2" and weigh 230 and i have mine set to a 10.
sure some of you are gonna ski harder than me (i live in the midwest) but shit a 16 thats fuckin nuts.
that ski won't come off unless your leg comes off with it.
most of you need to check your forward pressure if it releases early. if you don't know what that is search google for forward pressure for the binding your using.
also always adjust them with the boots in the bindings. if you dont you can over crank them, and not realize until the tendons in your knee look like a plate of spaghetti
if you want to try and figure out what din is good for you and you dont really know what you are doing, i suggest increasing it slowly. if it still keeps popping out when you dont wnat to up it more.dont just crank it way up though thats really stupid
