Drafting help

I just finished this drawing;

I dont know if I need to put center marks that extend throughout the circle on the circles in the removed sections. My book didnt really provide a clear answer, I would assume they should be there but with the hatching it could get super cluttered real fast. I would ask my teacher but he is adjunct and only at school during our class. Thanks for the help.

are you asking if you should add more?  or simply keep the pluses denoting the center?

i'd say to add labels "plan view" and "profile view"......also "section a" instead of just "a", etc.

i think hes talking about the larger circles with the cross hatches in them correct? first of all what is this a model of that you are drafting? and you could always change the color of the center mark to make it stand out more and less cluttered. when i took drafting we were always required to have our circles with center marks and the radius' clearly marked

What I'm asking is if the center lines on the section views, A, B, and C need to extend out of the circle. I can't really change the color with my materials. Its a model of a valve, and I have the diameter labeled on the right side view.

Kind of a pointless thread but I have to turn this in at 8 Pm tomorrow and I will have no chance to talk to my teacher or anyone in my class before then.

i say extend them out and do dotted lines outside the circle, i was just looking over some of my old projects and thats what they all have

if you can put the center lines on one of the main drawing views, if you want pick one of your section views, you should include the centerlines on atleast one of your views.

id say extend dashed centerlines on the section views?

and don't worry about those stoneage techniques.  soon you'll be allowed to draw it in cad in 3d and mview the plan/profile views and dview the section views.

solidworks is baller.  i never got to learn it, the mech classes i took utilized pro-e.  my life now is wasted on civil oriented cad programs (autocad, civil3d, microstation).

yea haha i totally meant edu.

solidworks is rad. if you can learn other cad programs you can totally learn solidworks its super easy and really visual.

solidworks is super intuitive. i got pretty good fairly quickly. i'm using inventor now and it's awesome. similar to solidworks, but made by autodesk so you can import autocad drawings into it and model off of those sketches. as for the drafting, i would extend the lines beyond the smaller circle slightly, but not all the way through the drawing. that would clutter the hatching like you were saying.
