be wary of short poles too! i landed something leaning a bit too far forward and one of my short girl poles dug into the ground and the other end connected straight on my kneecap. dislocated kneecaps aren't fun, but then again neither is riding with big poles
I wouldn't know, I use normal sized poles...mostly because I do pole plant and I ski mostly backcountry and stuff. when I'm in the park or groomers all day I sometimes just ditch em, way more fun for me than having short poles that don't even make me feel more balanced.
So basically i have the shortest poles that my mountain offers (stole them from the rental shop) and they are about half-way up my thigh. I'm 5'2" by the way, so they're damn short. They suck when skating but they help to keep my body low when i hit rails. My center of balance is lowered by planting my poles on my run up.
this thread is exactly why i try to stay away from ski gabber. who fuckin cares if someones poles are short or long or if they dont use any, just shut up and ski.
^ im guessing k2 makes them? those are made from the same rod's that shakespeare fishing rods are made from, they basically just took a fishing rod and put a grip on it. I find them to be to flexible though, you wouldnt be able to do sweet pole tricks cause they would just bend.
