I know I know, there have been countless posts regarding Pollard in the past few days but fuck it...I don't care. I just got done reading the 'Tao of Pollard' article in the newest Freeze and this guy is the most genuinely talented skier I've ever heard of. There's a cold hard fact behind this. And that is that Mt. Hood didn't have the capabilities (in the winters of the early 90's) to produce skiers like Pollard. I live in Portland and have been skiing there since 89'. Pollard produced himself. He was looking up to a few different people, but he was responsible for innovating things on his own...and that makes him genuine as hell. God I wish I could ski...LATE
*And those damn skis...130mm underfoot?! A prophet from the future...
I'll tell you where...someplace warm...a place where the beer flows like wine...where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of capastrano...I'm talkin' about a little place called Asssspennnnn...
