This is the thread in which to talk about election stuff for the day. In order to keep clutter to a minimum we're going to keep it all in one thread; any other threads pertaining to the election will be deleted, so don't bother making another one, just post it in here!
I like the fact that we just elected a man that has pretty much done nothing for this country(if not made it worse than it already was)and we voted out a guy that pretty much gave his LIFE for the country...kinda ironic
One thing I want to point out is in how during his speech when he mentioned McCain, you hear applause, not like boos and jeers from the preceeding speech. What's going to make him great is that hhe wants to work with his rivals to help fix the situation.
How about we all focus on, or at least just acknowledge that we all just witnessed a MAJOR HISTORICAL EVENT seen world wide. I watched with my family and some elderly family friends... like 80 something... their only comparison was to FDR's election, as far as a landmark election event. Whether good or bad in your mind, it was an absolutely momentous event that shook off the inertia we've been wallowing in for... a decade or so now.
Nah but really, someone needs to introduce a law that guarantees the exact same rights, marriage to civil union, for homosexual couples, and we'll all be satisfied.
i likewise appreciate how your posts are free of personal attacks against me...
believe me attacking someone like i did JD is completely out of caricature for me. but when i get "you fucking people" i am going to fight fire with fire.
You're part of a brand that is now out of the spotlight, finally, and you deserved to be called out for bemoaning your own movement's primary argument for years, back when people were in the minority saying, "but wait, the President shouldn't be doing this". You represent hypocrisy and political posturing and I'm glad what you represent will spend the next four years on the margins of your society.
I found the part about you not being a Republican hilarious. You're not just a Republican for the purposes of this election... You would have supported whoever they put on their ticket. That's devoted right-wingnut-ism, and your denial of it is pathetic and transparent.
"say it ain't so joe say it ain't so". i represent myself. thanks.
honest to god, i am NOT a republican. and if you can call me a right wing nut, then i think i deserve the right to call you a "left wing nut job" problem with that?
But that's what you are, a caricature, a symbol of an era of our nations history left by the wayside after 8 years of failed policy. It's time to move on and more so GET ALONG.
i understand that. when i asked him why he was against gays he said "cause im catholic" hence why i said that.
no worries i know they arent all that ignorant. thank god.
