Hey guys im going to park city mid december for a couple weeks. never been there before and was wondering what the conditions would be like? snow, pow, park, etc. Normally ski in silver star and been to whistler so maybe could compare to PC. All help would be appreciated. Thanks
it wont be anything like iether of those mountains...way less pow, way less freeriding...way more crowds and nice hardpack...im sure youll have fun on the rails and boxes though!
if memory serves me that time last year the parks were not in full swing, but there were lots of jumps and rails still. If you are lucky you could get some nice pow, no way to tell at this point but last season some of my favorite pow days were in december.
Yeah we also has a shitty early season snow year last year. If it's anywhere near normal which is much better snow than last year, they could have some dece jumps in kings. I came to PC about two years ago right after christmas and they had like a 4 jump line in kings all around 20-30ish ft plus mad jibs. Can't really used last year as an example of what this year could be like.
My experience dosen't really count, because the only time I was there in december was the week after christmas 03 and we got the "storm of the century" or at least that's what they called it. From the people that I talked to the early season is not nearly as good as early spring, but a little bit of snow while ur there can change all that.
cool. going from the 13th to the 28th. doesn't sound to promising with the snow though which is a bit of a pain. will the nearby mountains have snow or just the same as PC?
