How Durable is K2?

I was wondering how long my K2 Disorderlys will last? They seem pretty durable, but i was wondering what you guys know.

ride them for a couple seasons and then get back to us.  I've always had good experiences with k2 durability.

i had fujatives last year.  hit lots of rails no edge cracks.  topsheet chipped alot tho.

they're the same construction as the PEs, which are absolutely bomb. if you hit your skis together a lot, the topsheet will chip, but other than that they've got really thick edges and the thickest/tallest sidewalls i've ever seen, except for maybe some race skis. they're actually thicker (from the base to the topsheet) than my PEs, which is weird. so i can't imagine them losing camber anytime soon or breaking in any way.


they're also 2 cm longer than my PEs too haha, both 179. no idea why.

i should probably also add, on the other hand, they're reeeally heavy haha. at least as heavy as PEs. but hopefully the fact that they're center mounted only will make them feel lighter. i'll see when i ski them.

I didn't think they were that heavy at all.  Then again, the ones I rode (179) were center mounted with jester's

Yeah thanks everyone, Luckily i got use mine yesterday for the first time, and yes they seem hella lighter than just holding them. the topsheet has shaved a little bit but everything else is solid as all heck,, and i mean i dont really know of a ski that doesnt shave/chip on the top.

pretty durable.
i rode the Public Enemies last year and just the top sheet chiped like craaaazy put thats the PTex top.
but the bases hold up sooooo nicely

k2's in general are super bombproof

When you make a ski that is a solid wood core, you will have it be a slight bit heavier than a foam core or composite blend ski. The upside is that wood skis retain camber and pop and last longer overall. Some companies that have been traditionally foam core skis are moving back to wood. There is a reason. Enjoy the skis.

granted that i haven't had my Enemy's for very long (this will be their second season, but they're the 06/07 pair), they have held up incredibly well through everything i've put them through, they still ride like brand new despite having given them the worst beating any of my skis have ever endured. I've come to have great faith in K2 which is why i will be grabbing myself a pair of Hellbents ASAP.

I skied on 08 seths last year.  I do alot of tree skiing and park.  Alot of times there are roots and rocks that knick my skis.  Like they said above, the topsheet chips.  It doesn't effect the performance one bit, just looks a little shitty.  Bottom of the ski is rock sold.  I have gone over some decent rocks and roots and I have no unfixable gouges and scratches.  K2 all in all I would give a 8/10 on durability, would be 10 if it werent for chipping.

yeah the chipping isnt that bad tho, like it shaves a little bit, but the topsheet is really thick so its awesome.

True Dat!!! I have 06 Silencers,09 Extremes and 09 Hellbents and their all sooooo sick,everything about them is so durable and strong that its very unlikely that you'll have problems,the only downfall to all K2 that ive noticed is that their topsheets chip and scratch like crazy,but if you can keep it under control your fine. K2 for life!!!

The topsheets and sidewalls will get shredded, but the overall ski is very durable.

I have had Mad'n Aks for two years and hellbents for one, the mad'ns have some cracked edges but they have not fallen off at all, but after one year the core had significantly broken down, and now they are super soft and i think they're a great park ski. the hellbents seem to be holding their flex pattern better, but i'll see after this year.
