Yeah Im new to this Cult so here will be my first post. Just kinda a rant. So I started Skiing in the Park Last year and I progressed really slow. I learned alot but nothing two hard like I, ( Claim ) could 180 the 40 foot table at my mountain and do some hand rails but nothing really special. So the season came and went and I didnt get good or I kinda got stuck and was having trouble with rails and such. So the season was done and I skateboarded at the time and was down at my local skate park and was just chillin and I saw some kid with a pair of skates. Puzzled becuase I had never seen a pair like that with only 2 wheels and a soul plate so I was confused. I asked him about it and he explained everything and I tried them on and I liked it alot. So two weeks later I was sitting at my house opening the package of my first pair of Razor Skates so stoked. I tried them on and went down to the skate park. So I skated the whole spring summer and till now and learned basic tricks like souls and I could air out and I practiced more tricks that would help me with skiing like just basic switchups and 270 ons which I could never do while skiing. So I kinda got somewhat comfy trying them all summer and spins and shit. Then it snowed where I live recently ( NJ ) and I had built a little double barrel rail this summer for skiing and I set it up so I could take my first hit of the season.
So as I got home from school I invited all of my snowboarder friends over and my one friend that skied. We set up my rail as just an flat rail with an 2-3 foot gap or so and a nice poppy lip on. So I went over took my first hit and was surprised at how easy it was it was. I felt like I had an super heavy pair of skates on, but it felt like I was still somewhat had wheels on my feet. So I was kinda sitting there feeling like taking some of my new learned tricks on the pavement and moving them to the snow. So I went for my first ever 270 on and landed it smoothly and went to somehow pretzel out and you know what I stomped it super clean and all my friends just jaws dropped. I then procceded two 270 on, blindside switchup two 270 out. I then landed a 450 on after 3 tries. It was crazy because I had learned more that day then I did the previous season. So the moral of this story is rollerblading is the shit and its crazy how much it helped me progress. Anyone have an similar experiance to this?
