Look P12 Bindings (Pivot Heel)

BACKGROUND

I have these bindings on my Troubled Youth skis that I no longer use.  My friend told me they were a good binding so I wanted to put them on my AR6's which I just bought but they did not fit.  The ski was too wide.  The old master bootfitter/head of the ski shop guy said that these old look p12 bindings are not as good as the newer models.  I ended up buying the newer ones and mounted them on my ar6.  So now I am left with a pair of old Look P12 bindings on Troubled Youth skis and a few questions:

QUESTIONS

1. Why are the old Look P12 Pivot Heel bindings better than the newer models?

2. About how much can I sell the old Look P12 Pivot Heel bindings for (they have a season on them but work fine)?

3. Should I sell the bindings with the Troubled Youth skis or take them off and sell them seperatly?

1. the pivot heel helps so if you land strange you wont eject out, your boot will pivot so you can save the landing
2. you could get any where between 120-200 depending on if people want them
3. sell alone, not a bid demand for youth skis on here.

and you should have just bent out the breaks to fit, way better binding then the new one

Your shop tech lied to you

You can get up to 100mm brake for the axial/pivot still, I know cuz I called rossi about em a month ago and I own a pair with the 100mm brakes.

you can get wide brakes for these
i just bought a pair for 115 shipped in slightly worse condition than yours

The pivot heel is still very popular because it offers elasticity (versus fixed heel designs like most other bindings).. In falls with a twisting motion, it essentially can offer more time to correct a fall without coming out of the binding..In saying that, when you definitely want to eject, you do. Very few problems with issues like prereleasing, and overall a very durable binding

Alright, I'm gunna take them off my old skis and sell them.

Does a shop need to do this or can I do it at home?

Why don't they make bindings with the pivot heel anymore?

all you need is a screw driver to take your bindings off, just unscrew the ones that are holding your bindings to your skis. and they dont make the bindings with the pivot heels anymore because they costed too much to produce. when i talked to the rossi rep here and asked if they have thought about bringing the turntable or pivot heels back he said dan treadway and others were testing "somthing" down in Chilli. could have been bullshit but i dunno.

the widebrakes that i have on both my pivots were stock 110mm widebrake. that being said, i bent them pretty easily to 115 to accomodate my bacons. now i have pivots on anthems and bacons and could not be more stoked.
