Financial Crisis = Sick Travel & Resort Deals??

Anyone know if their local mt or resort has been droping their prices to get more people in?? I've been hearing about how alot of the us market has been cutting back on expenses like travel (i know i am) but i stil haven't heard of any insane deals being announced by any resorts out west. Please post if you know of any as I am in need of good deals to be able to get some skiing done this season. +k for helpful posts of course.

i read that the teton mountain lodge has majorly cut prices so you can stay there and get lift tickets for way cheaper than it used to be, it's actually somewhat affordable
the ski industry is definitely going to lower prices in order to try to attract more customers
but my $0.02 is that ski destinations will become a lot less crowded because of travel expenses but mountains like mt snow that are only like a tank of gas away from new york or wherever gapers spawn will stay the same just lower prices maybe. i think places like jackson will become a lot cheaper and less crowded, just my opinion

yeah man that makes sense, farther away, more secluded and less accesible mts should def drop their prices but i still haven't heard something solid... except for a few hotel & lodge deals at vail which are still mad expensive (from $500 to $350/nt and shit like that!!)

If only it applied to every mountain. Whistler's season's passes and day passes have gone up in price, largely due to the peak-2-peak gondola (which is the most heinous waste of money...).

I wouldn't expect too many killer deals @ resorts. They can't afford to drop prices. If anything, you'll see emptier resorts. Also a major plus.

^ that's a hard knock in every skier's life. i suggest you try and get a fake student id (like an international one), i used mine til i was 26 but only cus i looked alot younger

shiesty ass crested butte isn't doing free skiing this year unless you spend at least $200 on lodging

werd....all that $ and no more terrain....its good for tourists and the olympics and i guess resort architecture but most of us dont see any real advantage

pretty much means the gapers have full access and fucks with the locals' system to avoid the crowds.

i wouldnt jump to that conclusion. i work for major resort property in breckenridge and they really arent dropping their prices. also rent hasnt changed at all either. its still expensive as fuck. the only difference is that homes arent selling and they are being rented instead for cheaper then they normally would go for.
