The quote from Ahmedinijad is reffering to his beleif Isreal should never have been created in the first place, and if you have any respect for the Palestinian people you have to see the validity to this point of view. He calls Isreal a "stinking corpse" which will destroy itself from within, he never once talks about a military strike on Isreal. He is playing defense, Bush puts Iran on the axis of evil, invades their neighbor, and builds military bases surrounding Iran. You have to understand Ahmedinijad's situation here. He is being backed into a corner by the U.S. and Isreal. Iran has to worry about being attacked, not Isreal. And thats all besides the fact that Ahmedinijad does not control the Iranian Guard, so he has no say in the matter. Not to mention Isreal's army alone could easily overwhelm Iran.
And on the subject of democracy, Palestine is also a democracy. Whom we sanction for electing a government who stands up for their rights.
There is no reason to back Isreal other than for political agenda. They are perfectly capable of handling themselves, and have, by far, the largest, well-funded army in the middle east.

Actually if you do some research, it was the jews land given to them by God 4000 years ago. They settled there after Moses brought them out of slavery. They lived there before Islam was even a religion. Secondly I know that muslims are peaceful. In fact if you do a little research you will find that only .2% of the population is involved in terrorism and over 65% of muslims hate terrorism and think it gives Islam a bad name.

No military strke on Israel? what does "wiping it off the face of the earth" mean? Iran only has to worry about being attacked because of their nuclear weapons program. Without Ineedadinnerjacket and their nuclear weapons Iran would be a regular old nonchalant country that we didn't need to have interest in.

have any of you ever been to the middle east? i've been to Israel, quite a few times. I've been to syria twice, I've been to Jordan once. I've been to Egypt once, I've driven through saudia Arabia for a couple of hours. Not all, but most of these people hate the Jews. Don't listen to the media.... they tell you what you want to hear.
BTW, the news you see and hear in the US is the exact opposite of what is currently going on there. I was in Israel/Jordan 2 months ago.
