i have to fix it first but a Jaguar XJ12, its sick,
-For that guy who said that cat-less exhaust is bad is a moron, if you get racing headers, then you have no cats. and they didn't make cars with CCs for 40 years or so, and they worked fine. CCs give you better emisions nothing more, they are ceramic plates with hundereds of holes in them in metal tubes that slow your exhaust flow.

You stupid cunts. Its all about the 1993 Chrysler Town and Country. The tranny is shot to hell, it has a slow leak in every tire, a big moldy coffee stain, 274,000 miles, and meted crayon on the roof. It is so damn lame.

ha ha! you fags, catalytic converters convert some of the unburned hydrocarbons and CO in your exhaust into water and CO2. the catalyst gets used up over time and is pretty mush useless after 60000 kms. They have been mandatory on all cars made since 1970. The problem with them is they are only for emmissions, backpressure is NEVER good, especially on a turbo car. you are making a common mistake and getting the engineering terms 'backpressure' and 'pressure drop' confused. First off I replaced the exhaust from the turbo back, so there is no cat, I know what I'm talking about and headers have nothing to do with cats. second, after your headers and turbo, the only exhaust tuning you do is for noise. therefore if you want maximum performance, you'd have your exhaust dumping right out the turbo, thats not street leagl but being street legal is for fags. all a cat is an unwanted restriction put there to pacify environmentalists. my turbo spools much faster, in fact I'm even getting a bit of boost creep, but you shit diggers dont even know what that is so I wont bother you with the details. If cats are so good, why dont race cars use 'em??? an XJ12 is a sweet car, too bad you'll probably wreck its engine cuz you dont know what you're doing.

seriously, when you take a stock pipe, and take the cat off it. thats bad. if you do other things to replace the cat its not that bad for it. but engines do need back pressure, otherwise you will be burning out valves in a matter of thousands of miles. Trust me, ive been through it, and i know what im talking about. Why do you think that engines have exhausts at all, its not just for noise reduction, but its because you cant have your exhaust flowing freely out of your engine, it needs some back pressure, not tons, but some. A catalytic canvertor does serve the purpose of claner emissions, but it also creates back pressure. There are many things in cars to make cleaner emissions, like egr valves, but thats not all. IM saying that you cant have no back pressure, or else you will lose a lot of power and its bad for it. Some people just throw 15 dollar cherry bomb peices of shit on their trucks and call it good, whick couldnt be further from the truth, plus they sound like shit. Trucks are not where its at, i heard a 69 camaro in here, if you build the 302's right, you can hit 11 grand. that is if its not a z

the only reason cars have exhuast systems is because otherwise they would be loud and pollute lots. all an exhaust does is route fumes from the cabin, silence noise and scrub out some pollutants. F1 cars, dragsters, and other full on no-compromise race cars use no more exhaust pipe than they have to. 'backpressure' by definition is the direct opposite of flow and is caused mainly by friction losses. this is NEVER good. if you dont have emmissions testing in your area there is no reason to run cats. I'd run no muffler because I like the way an engine sounds naturally, but to avoid tickets I used a cherry bomb to dull it down a little.

haha, i just got my permit, and i'm drivin my dad's toyota echo.

1.8 L VVT-i (what the fuck does that mean?) engine. standard tranny. wheels also included in the amenities. front wheel drive on mabye 14' wheels?

and the best part is that my dad refuses to put snow tires on the car. less than zero traction.

I got a lifted 99 tacoma extemded cab with 33x12.50 all bfg's. I am still makeing payments on it. My parents spilt insurance with me since I am in college and I pay for all the gas repasirs and anything else.

skier 1 ' have you seen those new skis with the tips in the front and back yet'

and a suspansion is a very important part of a car especally a sports car and although that might not be the fastest car, it still makes a big difference.

but its not like a lotus suspension setup makes a crappy car great...lotuses are nice for a number of reasons.

plus, there are better aftermarket suspension add-ons than your 10 year old set up.

...and the Lotus Elan and Impulse RS share he same engine, transmission and suspension. The elan is a FWD convertible, the Impulse is an AWD coupe, thats the only difference mechanically.

i feel so inferior... i got an old rusted olut farm truck, 85 chevy with a good strong 350, but i love it, besides the fact it costs 10 dollars to go a few miles down the road, smells bad, and doesnt always stay on the road...planning on getting a trans-am soon tho...

Thats funny because I have a book called 'The Illustrated Directory of Classic Cars' which features the Elan on page 310. It was written by Graham Robson, who started working at Jaguar in 1957 as an Engineer, competed in rallies, became Competitions Manager of Standard Triumph, then did experimental and road-proving driving for Chrysler UK and finally became an author in the 70's. He's written over 100 books. I'd take his word over any random internet guy.

its so funny listening to a random internet shittalker badmouth a car he knows nothing about and can't afford. Just because its not a WRX doesn't mean it sucks. There are plenty of cars that most people dismiss as 'junk' that are actually hidden gems. Its generally bad practice to talk down any car because with enough effort, anything can make an excellent car.
