Turning Tips Up

I've never done it, but everything I've read on ns says that after you turn them up, they break off very soon after.

euler, here is my experience: I used an iron. Worked okay, but torched the bases so they bubbled up, but that was okay since it wasnt on the running base surface. It messed up the core/base connection and it split a little at the curve. Key: make sure they are super hot or else you will just destroy the ski. I have heard some bad things about boiling that melts the core and/or ruins the edge/base adhesion. Go for the iron, just make sure you take your time and they will turn out okay.
