Loveland saturday some guy came up to me as I was getting out of my bindings and asked me why all of the other skiers had poles and I didn't. I told him it was just a personal decision to use poles and how I dont really like them. He kept asking, "so you dont actually need the poles?"

last year I went to a local play it again sports to trade in my old rossignol scratches. They guy took a good look and said he had never seen that kind of ski before, and proceeded to ask how I had gone about turning up the backs of the skis, and what the purpose was

hahahahahaha Play It Again is so out of the loop about everything except hockey. Some guy there was trying to tell me wooden lax sticks were better than aluminium ones, i told him i'd seen too many wooden sticks snap, he told me that they don't snap anymore...which is bull because i watch the NLL and you see one snap almost every game.

this ones always a classic "searchbar noob". theres a thread called gaper quotes i believe that is a couple pages long. but since you did searchbar, i wont hold it against you. my friend got run over by an asian gaper, who after he fell, got up, said "i ok!" and skied down the hill, leaving my friend lying there in a yardsale

I had a first time snowboarder yell at me because I was a skier in the snowboard park i believe it went something like this:

snowboarder:HEY!!!!!!you little shit get over here!

me:yes?

snowboarder:get the hell out of the snowboard park!!!!

I then proceeded to try and tell him it was a terrain park made for not only snowboards. of course he would have none of that and proceeded to tell me he was calling the ski patrol on me.

my gym class is going on a school skiing trip and my gym treacher says " When we get there we should have a big air compettion, i dont care about my body i just wanna rock some huge air" It was one of the funniest things ive heard a teacher say.

i had a gaper ask me almost the same thing about the mouguls but they asked what they do with the jumps in the summer and if it hurts when you fall on them becuase of the wood underneath...

me and my friends were riding up the gondola and talking about like the park or something and these two guys were like "arent the terrain parks only for snowboarders?" it was THE stupidest thing ive ever heard.

this is something i cannot stand... kids in my school com up to me and they say yo i can do DOUBLE BLACKS what can u do? and i just walk away. I have the ski trip with my school to aspen and these kids wont shut up about how good they are

oh man or one from a long time ago.  At my hill there's some really old shitty log rail and I was rubbing my ski on it to smooth it out.  Some cocky snowboarder like literally 6 years older than me comes up and starts making fun of me to my face.  I'm like 12, he's like 18, so anyways I explain what I'm doing and he's all like "you don't need to do that watch this" he gets on the rail, catches like I told him he would, and eats shit so fucking hard.  It was probably the happiest moment of my life.

Gaper- "We have to jump off!?"
Me- I pretended my phone was ringing and answered it.
He wouldn't stop bugging me when I was pretending to talk on the phone.
When we got to the top he realized we didn't have to jump off and he was like: "Ohh, I see how it is, take advantage of us newcomers."
