Ok, this is a quick rant that was caused by some kid today who came up to me looking for money. I've gotten tons and tons of people asking for sponsorship and stuff for the NS Movie as well as being a rep for Moment. Most people just send me pm's with a link to their footage! Do you guys really expect to get sponsored that easily? First off, I'm not sure why people are coming up to ask me for money when I don't even have any. The NS movie isn't about making money at this point, it's a member made movie, we're not here to be ultra lucrative.
Next thing, if you're looking for sponsorship, you need a sponsorship proposal. If you expect anybody to take you seriously, you better include a schedule, resume, photos and video with your proposal.
We are actively looking for sponsors for the NS movie, but I am preparing myself for the worst, which is not having any sponsors at all and having to do it again with no budget. Of course if a bit of budget comes in, we'll have money to do some cool stuff, but please don't message me asking for me to pay for you gas money!
If you're new to the industry, get ready to be shutdown a lot. Don't come in to the ski undustry looking to make a shitload of money, cuz you won't. Come work in this industry because of your love and passion for skiing, not the green.
Below is a message exchange between me and some guy, i simply couldn't believe what he was asking of me! it's been slightly edited to keep it relevant and to keep his name out of it.
Read from Bottom to top.

lol, it's not that i don't believe you, I worked in NZ and I had to have an edit everyday for the company I worked for, it's just i don't understand why you're coming to me asking for money and sponsorship when you don't want to take part in the NS movie...if you're gonna survive in this business, you're gonna have to learn that no one is going to give you money on a whim, make the edits, then show them what you got, I've been in this industry for the past 5 years and it took me a long time to get where I am now, don't expect to get paid/make money in your first year of production, the ski industry is not a lucrative one, you have to be in it because you love skiing, not for the money
