Marker Dukes + Armada JJs = ?

So I'm getting the Armada JJ's for sure. So I've been looking into the Marker Duke bindings so I can tour around and get to some sick spots that would take for ever to boot pack to.

Anyways, my question is how reliable are the Dukes for spinning, flipping, landing switch and what not? I don't want to get them and have them rip out of the ski because i land wrong or something. So fill me in thanks!

i got the 08-09 jj's.  i mounted the 08-09 head mojo 15.  such a sick, light weight and solid binding. i would check those out also.

I wouldn't be too keen on trying switch landings on those, but for resort and sidecountry that would be a pretty pimpin' setup.

yep.

I have Dukes mounted on my BCs and they are solid for touring and skiing at high speeds. Pretty much everything but landing switch. I havent had a problem yet but I could definitely see how they could be prone to the plastic piece breaking on switch landings plus I've heard about it happening lots on here.

from what i have heard, dukes are kind of a pain in the ass. i heard it has a shitty mechanism for locking and unlocking the heel so you have to take your ski off to do it and i have also heard that the lock pin breaks easily on switch landings.


i think the taking the boot out is for dukes, not sure though.

why dont you just buy a jester and with the money you save buy some trekkers, then you can have a more solid binding, with a slight inconvenience of having trekkers

i wouldn't if they are your primary Powder play around rig. They are fairly heavy, and I have heard landing switch on them is a big no-no. I just mounted some on my old JJ's, as a sidecountry setup. Mounted them -1 from my usual mounting point for better floatation and so I don't tempt myself, they are a strict forward landing, pow/tour setup.
