Help needed! boots in larger sizes

hey everybody

this shit has been bugging me for weeks! so the problem is i have large feet. my shoes are all  size 13 but i guess the real size is more towards 12. i measured my foot and it's somewhere around 29 centimeters long. i'm a tall skinny guy and my feet and legs are really narrow.

i've read an assload of reviews for boots and all that stuff because i really don't have the chance to go to a boot fitter. i know it sucks and i need to do everything i can to get a boot that fits as well as possible. i have come to a point where i am just going to get as much information about a boot as possible and if i think it might fit me, i will order it online and try it on at home - if it doesn't fit perfectly i will take advantage of the warranty and send it back. this will be some aditional cost for me but i really want the best boot i can get.

as most of you probably know most freestyle boots are only produced up to the size of 29.5 which is just about too small for me.

anybody who had the same problem please post any kind of experiences in here, thanks!

during my hour long researchs i think some of the most commonly mentioned boots for narrow feet were dalbellos and full tilts. i live in germany, you guys can probably guess how hard it would be to find a store that carries full tilts (because they're such a small company), especially the large sizes.

please understand, i'm from europe and i learned english in school, it's not my natural language, so if some of this wasn't clear enough i'm sorry.

let me put it like this: i want to narrow it down to 2 or 3 models, order them (=get them shipped to my home), pick the one that fits best, and finally send the other ones back. seems a little weird but it's the only way for me to do it.

so this thread is supposed to help me find those models.

some information about my skiing. i ski 60+ days a year and i spend most of the time in the park, yet i don't  want a super soft boot that will limit me to the park because of course, i ski powder too. the boot should be mid stiff so it'll be good for both park and backcountry (not charging, more natural jibs and some mellow powder cruising).

I wear a 12.5-13 shoe and ski a 28.5 ski boot. Your ski boots will be quite a bit smaller if you want the right fit.

Freestyle boots do not max at 29.5 case and point alpina vector sx has a size range of 250-315. but i suggest going to a bootfitter to have your proper size determined. and keep in mind every model of boot fits differently

damn sorry gotta stop skimmin long posts... to add to the alpina which is a 103 last which is a touch wide it also should be easily available in germany, and last is the width in mm i'd add the dalbello rave it maxes at a 30.5 and is lasted at 103 , or lange fluid fr 80's last is i believe 101 and i know they run as large as 33.5, lange inferno has a 98 last and goes to a 30.5, lange banshee at 98 last and max's at a 30.5.  hope this helps and if you need more options pm me wit some more info

do you think the dalbello rampages will fit me in a 29.5?

although buying boots online without any input from a bootfitter isn't the best way to go... a good tip i can give you is to buy 2 sizes (your size and 1 whole size smaller). if you do find boots that fit online, i'm sure that everybody will tell you to go for the smaller size one since chances are that they will end up performing alot better for the long run but it will be important that you can feel the difference comparing both. i have a pair of dalbello rampages which where properly fitted and went for a whole size smaller (9.5 shoe size / 26.5 boot size) and i'm glad i did. so yeah do that and you'll probably end up maximizing your shipping costs.

cool... i know shipping costs will go up but oh well, if i spend around 500 bucks on boots i can deal with those extra 7 bucks to ship the boots back and order another size...

anybody know how full tilts fit? are they rather small or large?

Don't buy them online. I can guarantee you'll regret it halfway through the winter but put up with a year or two of painful bad fitting boots then buy again. Save yourself a load of money and pain and go to a shop, surely there is one wherever you ski. Or take a trip to a big resort and get them while you're there.

believe me, i don't want gaper boots and i will not buy boots that won't fit. if they don't fell perfect i'll send them back.

still cheaper than travelling for hours to find some shop that probably doesn't even stock my size

That's exactly my point. Very few people know how boots should fit. If it feels good to you right out of the box then it's almost certainly the wrong boot. Hey, it's your money.

Plus you only need a 29, thaat's hardly big. Just plan a trip to a ski town this winter and get them while you're there.
