New Run at Marble Mountain

I was at Marble for the 'open house' and gear swap today, and I also took a look at the new run that has been cut. It starts on the cross cut at the bottom of Autobahn, merges briefly with Hoh Chi Minh, then cuts into the woods to the skiers' left and underneath the Black Mariah chair, then turns to skiers' right and ends in the woods between the Black Mariah and the run 'Old Sam'. The slope is pretty gentle, I'd say around 20-25 degrees for most of it, so it will most likely be a blue square, which Marble's website concurs with. I couldn't take any pictures because the camera batteries were dead. Right now the run consists of mud and rocks with a John Deere excavator near the bottom. Topographical changes to the terrain park have not yet been begun, if they are going to occur at all.

yeah this is what EVERYONE says, that the park is too steep, and it should go over to those runs near country road. The good thing about it is not getting enough speed isn't an issue and if you're hiking rails you don't have to go far up the hill.

I said not getting enough speed isn't an issue, kind of unclear cause I guess it is a double negative, but I meant you can get enough speed. and yeah I've been hike-and skiing the woods and pipeline over here the last couple days, fun shit.

WORD about the snow staying. I went jibbing behind the Pepsi center here where they have some siiiiickkk rails in this chain fence compound thing. Also tried to slide some rails on campus but had speed problems since they all have a lot of flat before them -I'm gonna have to build a drop in.
